    Battleship? Heck I'll sh.it a Aircraft Carrier !!!

He's another shrimp but that little WR out of Oregon St , Brandin Cooks, he's going to catch a lot of passes in the NFL. He is one of the safer picks and you can check off all the boxes except height .

An aircraft carrier? Heck, I'll sh.it the entire lost continent of Atlantis!!

That's why they haven't found it yet. *DANCE*

Anyway, they did meet with Carey at the Combine, and there's no denying Carey is one of the best running backs in this class, even with the TE-level 40. He'd be a nice complement to Bell (which we need) in any case.

I wouldn't like drafting a RB that early either. Especially one with the same skill set that's already on the team. Dri Archer in the 7th would be ok though. Fills 2 needs change of pace back & kick returner.

    Silas Redd in the 7th.

If you're looking at Redd - who has been often injured and last spring had a knee injury - I'd look at the kid from Sam Houston - Tim Flanders. very similar Back to Slias Redd.. and probalby get him as an Undrafted free agent... Liked him in the Shrine game.

I wonder if LSH will be able to make it back from his injury. 26 years old so if healthy he could have a few more good years left ?
    Any thoughts ?

I hope so, but even then, primarily as a returner. I want another back with skills that complement Bell, be it added speed and/or elusiveness, who is around the same age as Bell.

  12. demolisher43 Franchise Player Steelers

Has Bitonio's stock really leapt that high? I like him too, but I remember when few even considered him draftable.

I still say the defensive front seven deserves the most attention. We could theoretically spend five picks on that area of the defense. If we can retain Worilds, that becomes less likely, but it really only removes OLB from the list of priorities.

My latest mock (probably not perfect):

    1. C.J. Mosley, ILB, Alabama
    2. Stephen Tuitt, DE, Notre Dame
    3. Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss (I remember 2009 when ny and I were all over Mike Wallace. The more I learn about Moncrief, the more I like, this time it's beach who hyped him up first.)
    4. Chris Davis, CB, Auburn
5A. Justin Ellis, NT, Louisiana Tech
5B. Kirby Van Der Kamp, P, Iowa State
    6. Brent Urban, DE, Virginia
7A. Russell Bodine, OG, North Carolina
    7B. Justin Britt, OT, Missouri

    UDFA. Taylor Hart, DE, Oregon
UDFA. Kapri Bibbs, RB, Colorado State

Demo nice mix of players. Not drafting a safety seems unlikely JMFO .

Walter Football's mock has the 5th round out as of today. Has Pittdburgh taking Andre Williams????? Similar sized back to Bell makes no sense at all! Two picks later Baltimore grabs Walt Aikens... I strongly disagree with that round. I like Aikens he will develop the intangibles are already in place.

  14. Here's a fun scenario:

Let's just say that during the draft, the first 14 picks are nothing like people thought they would be and, at 15, you have Dennard, Gilbert, Ebron, Evans, Nix, Dix, and Lee to choose from. Who do YOU choose?

Personally, I have to go with Dennard because he is physical as all get out and our corner depth is frightening. I would also happily go Gilbert, but I like Dennard's upside more.

  15. burghball Guest

    Indy,

Out of that mix I go J.Gilbert.. Speed and he can give ya something in the return game right away. He also covers better than Dennard - yeah - not quite as physical - but you have Troy and Shamarko at the Safety spots for that and If they grab the kid out of Wash St - D.Buccanon.. you have another in training... Lee - I just dont care for - he plays out of control sometimes.. I Like Ebron but he's over hype for me and saw an interview with him and he thinks too much of himself for my taste.. Evans may be a player at #15... but he did disappear in a couple of games..

    so - I go J.Gilbert

you may also want to add the possibility of Mosley at #15...

This Jordan Matthews idea is compelling. 6 foot 3", 220 lbs, very good speed and great hands....I don't see a downside with this one....a reach in the first round probably from what I'm reading but I don't expect him to still be on the board when the Steelers pick in the 2nd round. A conundrum.

  17. nybites M.V.P. Steelers UCONN

I like Moncrief over Matthews, wasn't overly impressed at the Senior Bowl with Matthews, basically he disappointed me.

The best pick is from bb, later in the draft grabbing the Alabama WR that is currently under the radar, Kevin Norwood. Also Mano's got Jeff Janis on his radar, looked great at the combine.

I find it funny how I call out Brandin Cooks as a value pick, safe choice, etc.., and now the other sites are regirgiating the same thing. *REF*

I have a second and third draft done, 3 round mock, updating today. Not sure when or how I am posting it. I have the comments in my head, and the picks are not just pulling a rabbit out of my azz either.

Moncrief - Boy, you're not kidding. Just looked up this kid. His concentration level with guys hanging all over him and still making the catch was impressive. 6' 3" 220 lbs. 4.4 speed at combine.....Let me ask you, NY, how many comparably talented, tall WRs are out there? Seems like it will be easier this year, maybe, to get Ben that tall WR he's wanted (you know, since Limas Sweed didn't work out). *WALL*

Norwood looked ok. Janis looks like a sleeper possibility. Cooks looks kind of small.

  20. nybites M.V.P. Steelers UCONN

Cooks is mall but the kid is ready to be the slot WR as a rookie. There are 10-12 tall WR that Pittsburgh could target. I see a run on WR middle first and or early second
