How did Jared Aberderis look, I am only looking at stats. Not a lot of yds, but 8 grabs. One stat I like is that Van Noy had a pick, means he is as you say "high Football IQ" and not a coverage liability. *PARDON*

  2. Freshman Myles Jack is a guy to watch at UCLA. Played linebacker, safety and running back and did well at all three today.

EDIT: Read his name wrong on UCLA's website.

AJ McCarron may not be a franchise QB but the kid will make it in the NFL. Spending 10 years as a reliable backup is a good career.

Another INT for Andre Hal out of Vandy. I'm keeping a close eye on him between now and May.

Stock up on Andre Williams. I know it was New Mexico State but 295 yards rushing is still 295 yards.

Good game out of Devin Street. I'm hoping he can show the speed to make it in the NFL because he has the size and ability.

Cyril Richardson- check him out, watched him last week and he flashed, i was eyeing the O line because thats what iwant the most come april - dare i say for both our teams.

Stork for FSU was good, at this point im more interested to discover whether or not he is intelligent or not but he is a mauler. i dont think i saw him lose at that PoA...

I need to see more of collins out of LSU and i heard good things out of the Guard from UCLA- but havent got to watch him so thoughts?

Cameron Irving? FSU? thoughts? i liked him but then again maybe its because FSU has you know who and they seem to be on a roll. Need to see these guys against tough competition, what id give him one on one combine drills for a week right now.

nix is still a solid NT that i saw in week 1 or so. but the kid that has upside, is the NT out of Tenn, daniel macullers, cant remember the spelling but jesus christ- this kid is HUGE, really stout, and can bend, if he picks up some solid hand technique and learns to use his massive frame....could be a solid second day sleeper.

We should just outright focus on O lineman.

The problem I have with this dude is HUGE can clog the middle theory, think Terrance Mt. Cody, how'd that work out? Phil Taylor on the other hand...........

  5. Ravens2k Franchise Player Ravens

thats a fair point, but right now Cody is doing solid for the ravens, he is now all pro, or pro bowler but is a solid rotational pick up, and dare i say, we missed him while he was injured.

the NT im referring to would be a 3rd round pick, and i feel like a rotational starter is solid value at that pick, its not optimal but i think he has the size combined withsolid technique that you dont see in really tall guys to make something of himself.

Was thinking this draft would be pretty deep in top end OT... Thinking no so now... Hurst headed in the wrong direction. Watch Lewan again on Saturday - not impressed. Maybe both show better at the Senior Bowl/Combine.. but for now - Matthews is the only OT I'd look at in the top 10 of the draft - maybe top 20.

As someone mentioned Yankey the OG from stanford was impressive - I keep hearing/reading about Cyril Richardson from the school that shall not be named... I did watch them last thursday night - just was not impressed with him - he is big and strong but after the initial punch - you dont get a whole lot... Not like DeCastro... who keeps moving - looks for the next target...as comparison..

I do like the kid OC/OG from Florida State - Stork... nice 2/3 round pick...

Also - Got to see Dereck Carr QB from Fresno again. He is going to make some team real happy as a 2nd round pick.. Strong arm - makes good decisions for the most part and sees the field..

I think Buffalo is on tonight vs Toledo.... - Need to see Mack and the WR

    enjoy,

2014 NFL Draft: Utah's Trevor Reilly bedevils ASU in losing effort
    By Rob Rang | The Sports Xchange/CBSSports.comNovember 9, 2013 8:05 pm ET

Don't blame versatile defender Trevor Reilly for Utah's late collapse to Arizona State. (USATSI)

With Stanford's bludgeoning of Oregon Thursday night, the one-loss Cardinal have jumped right back into the BCS mix.

Voters had pointed to Stanford's shocking 27-21 loss in Utah October 12 as the one blight on their resume. With the Utes giving No. 22 Arizona State and their explosive offense all they could handle Saturday in Salt Lake City, the national perception of Kyle Whittingham's defense could be changing.

Versatile senior defender Trevor Reilly personifies the underrated Utes, who lost a heart-breaker to the Sun Devils 20-19.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pound Reilly serves as moveable chess piece for the Utes, showing the same ability to make plays at defensive end or linebacker as more hyped conference defenders like UCLA's Anthony Barr and the Cardinal's Trent Murphy. His average of 1.38 tackles for loss per game in 2013, in fact, ranks just behind Barr (1.62) and Murphy (1.56) among Pac-12 defenders. Reilly entered Saturday's Pac-12 showdown leading the team with 69 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and three fumble recoveries.

NFL scouts know Reilly well, however. And after Saturday's gritty effort, more should be hearing Reilly's name soon.

Surprisingly athletic, Reilly was a constant fork in the side of the Sun Devils, recording multiple tackles for loss, including three sacks on the day. Twice Reilly used a pure speed rush to slip past senior left tackle Evan Finkenberg to sack quarterback Taylor Kelly, the second of which came on ASU's attempted two-point conversion after scoring the go-ahead touchdown with just under three minutes remaining. Reilly's sack kept the Sun Devils' lead at just one-point with 2:32 remaining.

It wasn't Reilly's only notable contribution on a PAT attempt.

Though he wasn't successful, the Utes showed their confidence in Reilly's athleticism by running him on a fake PAT attempt in the first quarter.

When rushing the quarterback out of a three point stance, Reilly shows good burst, as well as the flexibility to dip under the reach of the left tackle and turn the corner. He is very light on his feet, showing good body control to dip back inside on a counter move. Reilly's balance and flexibility were put to the test in this game but he showed the ability to handle cut blocks as well as keep his feet when pursuing down the line.

Considering his lanky frame, perhaps most surprising is Reilly's agility and awareness in coverage. Against Arizona State's up-tempo passing attack, Reilly showed quickness and instincts in space, demonstrating a blend of skills that could make him a highly attractive "hybrid" defender to scouts operating for 4-3 and 3-4 teams, alike.

NY, Jared Aberderis is as tall lanky WR with really good hands. He isn't going to get a bunch of yards after the catch. Looks like a possesion WR. He's a move the chains type of WR that could do really well in the right system.

I watched that game as well SB. Jack was impressive. On the long TD run he was out running DBs. The kid is a machine. He was everywhere on defense! I'm definately going to try to catch a few more UCLA games this season to see if Jack puts on a performance like that again.

  10. demolisher43 Franchise Player Steelers

I'm starting to think the Steelers shouldn't be interested in a first-round WR. Obviously, if Matthews falls to us, there's no way we pass him up, but besides that, we can probably adjust to the loss of Sanders based on existing personnel on the roster and the practice squad.

Our WRs are very healthy and have been like that for a long time. Injury shouldn't be a concern there. We can get away with only having four real WRs and holding the fifth WR spot for a return specialist like Reggie Dunn.

Why not continue to develop Wheaton and Moye? A first-round pick would be more able to play immediately, but if those two develop, we'll already have a complete group.

Jerricho Cotchery has really come on lately, making an immediate replacement for him unnecessary.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Wheaton and his screwy finger. I forgot about that.

  11. jcsteelfan Franchise Player Steelers

To me Cotchery has been under utilized until recently with the Steelers. The big play flashy WR is great but you gotta have a physical possession move the chains type of WR to compliment them. Cotchery and and Brown make a good tandem. Add a healthy Heat Miller into it and you have a good group. With a healthy Wheaton and or Moye the Steelers don't have to pay Sanders.

Whoever scouts WRs for the Steelers seems to have a pretty good eye since the Limas Sweed experiment. I personally don't want to see them invest an early round pick on a WR unless it's a guy like Evans from A&M. The money big time WRs command after their rookie contract doesn't fit the Steelers way of running a team.

If the Steelers have a top ten pick in the next Draft I'd love to see them grab a legit LT. Looks like there will be a few good ones in the next draft. Just need a few QBs to perform really well so teams ahead of the Steelers gamble on them leaving a stud LT for the Steelers.

  12. nybites M.V.P. Steelers UCONN

Sleeper alert: Brent Irving DT Virginia. 6-7 295 leads the nation in tipped/blocked passes. Right now he's fighting g an injury but has committed to the Senior Bowl. Imagine a 5 technique used to taking on blockers and get his big paw upon the air at the right time . That is an art, you either got it or you frustrate a coach.

  13. nybites M.V.P. Steelers UCONN

Anyone else thinking Jonathan Martin deserves another chance, like on the same unit as DeCastro?

  14. StlCrtn Franchise Player Steelers

To be honest; no. I don't think he is actually any better than what the Steelers have at this moment, at least starting-wise. He has shown that he isn't strong/fast enough to handle the LT spot and he was below average at the RT spot. I would rather get somebody in round 2 or 3 who has some attitude. Something that might bring some fight to the group they have now.

  15. Steelroc74 Franchise Player Steelers

I'm with StlCrtn on this one he seems soft and I don't want him on the team, we need a hard-nosed player that can do it all.

  16. nybites M.V.P. Steelers UCONN

Walterfootball updated his mock , Jake Matthews to
Pitt @ 7. I don't hate pick 39. Stephen Tuitt, I am not crazy about his motor, even though the talent is there. But the logic is flawed Cameron Heyward is playing great ball right now. I still like kid out of VA late or undrafted.( Brent Urban) The way I pick late DL talent he'll probBly be a 4th rounder after the combine. I would say he reminds me of Calais Campbell who =sb really liked, I whiffed, it happens. But I LEARN from my mistakes.

    http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/...ospect-of-week-11-wisconsin-ilb-chris-borland

Article over on CBS about Wisconsin LB Chris Borland. I mentioned him as a prospect at ILB that I didn't know much about but impressed me VS BYU. I compared him to London Fletcher. Others are comparing him to Zach Thomas.

Anybody that thinks he's not quick or fast enough for the NFL hasn't watched him. BYU QB Taysom Hill is as fast and strong as any QB in college football and Borland constantly stopped him from getting up field on the edge. After watching him play it's obvious he's got great instincts and a high football IQ.

I see him ranked as a 3-4 round pick. If he makes it to the 3rd he's going to be a steal!

  18. burghball Guest

Re Borland.. We were tooting his horn last year. My only issue with Borland is his height (same for Spence) Covering the larger TE's is going to be a challenge.

Look at the ILB from Michigan State also.. I forget his name - but this kid can play also.

    enjoy,

    one of the idiots

Edit: Max Bullough ILB Michigan State and the kid from Stanford Skov.. and NY's kid from UConn Smallwood.. Borland is a football player - he finds the ball no doubt. could start as a great ST player.

  19. jcsteelfan Franchise Player Steelers

I could see that being an issue with the tall guys.

I've watched Skov a couple times. The two games I've watched were Oregon and Utah. The kid played as advertised. I suspect he's going to go high enough I'd rather wait on a kid like Boreland. Although Boreland has now started getting enough attention that he may be gone much earlier than previous projections.

It's funny I see Skov has moved past Van Noy on Rob Rangs top 30. Crazy!

I'll have to check out Smallwood and Bullough.
