Not sure if anyone has heard but Austin Sefarian-Jenkins broke his pinkie yesterday. He's opting for surgery and is said to be out for a while.

I know some of you were interested in getting him with the 32nd pick. Is this one of those injuries that will completely drop him out of the first if he misses many games?

    Thoughts?

Was just taking a gander at the S class coming out next year and the height on this crop is what stood out to me not many of the top tier are under 6'-0" tall and all pretty much are said to have 4.5 to 4.6 speed.

Man - College ball in a week and half - I got to get my cheet together.. I know the opening Thursday night there's a big one - and should be a fun one to watch North Carolina vs South Carolina I'll post some "look at and nats" in a couple of days.... there some other good games Labor Day weekend also..

  4. I wonder if Pitt can keep it within two touchdowns against FSU?

I'll be at the Mizzou-Murray St. game. No one real high on the list. Kony Ealy is a nice DL prospect but that might be the last thing this team needs right now. EJ Gaines as a possible 4th-5th round pick is another guy at corner. I'll at least get an up close look at some SEC players come October and November as well as boo Johnny Manziel if the NCAA doesn't throw the book at him.

Keep an eye on The NC Quarteback, Bryn Renner, total sleeper.

  6. burghball Guest

Not sure how much of a sleeper he is... I've seen him as high as a 1st round draft pick...(Walter has him round 1-3) Pitt plays UNC in November in Heinz field - I gavemy 2 tickets away to a guy I work with - A big UNC fan... I'll be at the Pitt vs ND game the week before.

    James Hurst, OT, North Carolina
    Height: 6-7. Weight: 310.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.25.
    Projected Round (2014): 1-3.
8/9/13: Hurst is a sleeper prospect who could rise up the rankings. He has great length to go along with good athleticism. Hurst enters his senior season having been a 3-year starter for North Carolina.

Hurst had a strong 2012 campaign protecting the blind side of Bryn Renner. Star guard Jonathan Cooper formed an excellent left side of the line with Hurst. Cooper has said that Hurst helped him to a lot of his collegiate success. Hurst is said to be extremely intelligent. He always knows what to do and where to be, and directs his teammates accordingly. Hurst was a strong run-blocker for Giovani Bernard last year.

The senior has the opportunity to make an immediate statement this season and electrify his draft stock. North Carolina's 2013 season opener is South Carolina, which will match up Hurst against phenom defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. If Hurst plays well against Clowney, the Tar Heel could help make the case to be a first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. It will be all downhill for Hurst after he gets by Clowney.

Hurst was a freshman sensation in 2010. He started 12 games at left tackle and graded out at a high level. The sophomore stayed in the lineup in 2011 and had a good season blocking for Bernard.

Personal: Majoring in exercise and sports science. Son of Tim and Susan Hurst. His father played football at Alabama.
    -----------------------

Here's a kid I'll be watching next Thursday night - right out of the gate a match up vs Clowney... wow! I'm real concerned with the lack depth and even the starter Marcus "oh my leg" Gilbert... so looking at an OT early in the draft is not so far fetched...

    enjoy,

Here's another UNC player to watch next Thursday nght:

    Eric Ebron*, TE, North Carolina
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 245.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.65.
    Projected Round (2014): 1-3.
8/3/13: Ebron has a great skill set with size, speed and strength. He has the potential to be a starting tight end in the NFL with three-down ability.

Ebron was the Tar Heels' second leading receiver in 2012, making 40 catches for 625 yards and four touchdowns. He was a dangerous receiver for Bryn Renner.

North Carolina was thin at defensive end last year, so Ebron played some defensive end along with being a tight end. All he pretty much did was try speed rushes to get disruption upfield, but it was impressive that he was able to apply some pass pressures.

Ebron is very fast running through the secondary and is excellent attacking the middle of the field on slants and seam routes. He operates well as a slot receiver, too. Ebron needs to work on his hands and route-running, but he has great potential.

Additionally, Ebron flashes some impressive blocking potential. There are times when he rocks defenders and gets them on roller skates. There are other times where Ebron misses or doesn't finish blocks. He needs to improve his ability to sustain his blocks. Ebron just needs to get more consistent.

    ---------------------

With Miller being in the 30 and over crowd and coming off a major injury.. Combine that with I'm not a fan of the Matt the whizzer - mr average SPaeth... We may look at TE - round 2 or 3? maybe a little high .. but This kid looks like he has a lot of potential...

    enjoy,

I would have pulled the trigger on Start Lutuleilei, he can play the 1, 3, or zero, just a plug and play disruptive DT. The NT is not relegated to just big fat guys, look how well Barry Cofield adapted for Shanahan, he came from a 4-3 with the Giants. The trick is finding talent who can be coached.

Unless Earth stops and the moon falls, Tedy Bridgewater is your first pick in the draft. Kid has it all. And Johnny Manure is going to be squadoosh in the NFL. That's a fact Jack- Bill Murray, Stripes, 1981

Laughing at some of the jacktards on ESPN whining about Johnny Headuphisazz and the NCAA sacntions. THe kid is a selfish punk, no leadership, and wait until NIck Satan has his big muthers take out his legs in the pig piles.

Manziel is one of those guys who may never play a down in the NFL. He may not make it to his Junior season in college if he keeps this up.

RB Christian Michael - Seahawks.. Here's a kid a lot of us liked - saw him in the Shrine game - Had a real nice night last night - He had low milage coming out of Texas A&M.... Will be interesting following his first year in the NFL vs Le'China Doll's......... With M.Lynch in front of him - he wont have to be the work horse for Seattle either...

    enjoy,

  14. Michael had red flags though for missing team interviews didn't he?

Knile Davis is another guy we need to compare him too and what's funny is I didn't want Davis due to his dubious injury history.

  15. Jonathan Cooper broke his leg

If you remember I liked Knile Davis I was banging the table for him middle rounds, see the KC 109 yard KO RETURN :( anyone seen Spencer Ware play yet, liked him coming out of LSU

Spencer Ware went to Seattle, holy crap on a cracker, they're loaded @ RB

Walter's updated his mock today.. Has us taking TE Eric Ebron UNC 2nd round - a kid to watch Thursday night...

I posted about him last week....

  19. Not sure I see that unless A). Miller gets hurt again or B). they don't intend to bring him back when his contract is up. I think the coaching staff is content with Miller and Spaeth and if they do well it will stay. IMO they wait until round 4 for another TE. I go corner early next year, even if Hawthorne breaks out they need another. Let's hope Gilbert and Adams work out or else it's going to be looking for a tackle early again.

We should be in BPA mode with 32nd pick in next years draft.
