You are referring to Chris Borland out of Wisconsin and Max Bullough out of Michigan State, two very good middle linebackers. Glen Carson might be the PSU LB you are talking about. 7 months from now, at the combine we are going to see the stock of one Andrew Jackson either ascend or decline. This is the second coming of Levon Kirkland, this kid is as wide as he is tall, and knocks people on their ass, very instintive. However if he shows any signs of good or bad footwork in the pass coverage drills, that will be the fulcrum of his stock. Just his size alone will create buzz. Every year some huge DT flies up the boards, my best guess is the mammoth DT out of Tennessee, Daniel McClullers will be this year's version of Phil Taylor. Another NT worth watching is the kid out of Notre Dame, Louis Nix, I like his lower center of gravity and leg strength to be able to tie up two blockers. Let the stat hounds promote guys like Tim Jernigan, great football talent but he's undersized. Jernigan only fits the 4-3, a lot of teams won't have him as a fit in their scheme.

every year some small school sleeper starts getting press, Jackson is one, but another LB to watch is the kid out of Cincy, Greg Blair. Maybe not a small school player, but a sleeper none the less. Kid brings it.

Watch Fields DE/OLB from TCU this year last year he was a rookie and think he put up like 10+ sacks last year, might be just a straight 4-3 DE though have to see if he can drop into coverage at all.

Just read DeVonte Fields will be serving a 2 game suspension to kick off the season for violating team rules. The 1st game is against LSU, that woulda been a game to see him in.

For the first time in my life, over half a century, I SHARED a desert with my wife ;) and NO the Devil is not on ice skates today!

Earl Wolff is progressing nicely in Philly. I am one to say TOLD YOU SO that part of me you won't ever change!

Big DT out of S. Mississippi to watch. Khyri Thorton. I believe he's Ronnie's younger brother.

Sleeper WR out of William & Mary, Tre McBride, very productive in 2012, has some size, only a JR however. I am sure Tomlin has someone chirping in his ear from his Alma Matta.

As a WKU Alumnus I'm looking forward to your analysis about Jackson. Jackson has a very good ability to read the offense and be in the right place at the right time, well that and he hits like a freight train. By the way, the Hilltoppers beat UK last season in overtime so... Someone you should check out is their Junior safety Jonathon Dowling a transfer from Florida. He's a sure tackler and has good hands (6 interceptions last season).

Cowboys coaches have mAde comparisons of JJ Wilcox to bill Bates. He is flying all over the field hitting and tackling so aggressively that Jason Garrett had to tell him to tone it Down a notch.
Keeping eith th Western Kentucky theme: Quanterus Smith expects to participate in Bronc'os camp, just 8 months after Dr. James Andrews repaired his ACL. If "Q" is anything like the player he was vs. Alabama, Denver got a steal. This is a Fun time of the year. All these guys you liked, hopefully they make the team and contribute.

Welcome Blackfish. Did you join for the draft discussions? Most of us are from CBSSports, we jumped ship and landed on this island.

Here's one player I'm glad we didn't go after:

Cardinals sixth-round WR Ryan Swope has been forced to retire due to lingering concussion symptoms.
Swope, the No. 174 overall pick, was a pleasant surprise at the Combine in February, running a 4.34 forty. But he suffered multiple concussions at Texas A&M and has never gotten over them. Swope is making the smart long-term health move, but it's a shame he never got to put on pads in the NFL.

I know a lot of you we're high on him, it's unfortunate his career has to abruptly end that way.

Sorry to see, but it's ridiculous to think that people seriously try to argue Swope being on the cover of NCAA '14 over Denard Robinson.

Swope we did like him but I'd like to check my board, pretty sure I factored in the concussion risk. *DANCE*

  13. Holy batcrap, I really was high on this guy too.

A guy I'm gonna keep a strong eye on is Louis Nix. I really like McLendon and think he will do well but if he is more Chris Hoke than Casey Hampton (which is not a bad thing) Nix would be a monster in the middle.

Glad you brought up Jackson nyb, I was a big fan and wanted him after I thought he declared.

If they want a receiver Sammy Watkins is the guy I love but he could be a top 10 pick so Jordan Matthews is a guy to watch. I'd be happy to get Matthews, Jackson and a corner like Jason Vernett in the first two days (assuming Wallace gets them a 3rd).

I'm gonna track Vernett this year, a JuCo transfer who's numbers suggest he's a ballhawk, which they could use more of at corner.

  14. Guys to watch for FSU......Kelvin Benjamin- 6'6" WR that finally got into shape and is down to 235 lbs....speed and size, Karlos Williams- SS think Mark Barron but bigger and faster, James Wilder- RB that is built like a freak and will have a monster yr as the featured back, Tim Jernigan- DT is finally starting and will expand on his stats from last yr and Cam Erving-OT was a converted DT and is getting better every yr...should dominate this yr. There are more guys but these are some names I expect to blow up as less heralded players.

What's nice about FSU is that they are on national TV Labor Day night vs Pitt.. There are a few players from Pitt to watch also... Good stuff. good chance I will be at this game. My pops had 2 season tickets to Pitt football.. we now have 4 seats for Pitt Home games.. Going to double dip twice this year - Pitt game on Saturday - Steelers on Sunday....

    enjoy,

  17. I watched an interview with Teddy Bridgewater today. He sounds like the polar opposite of Manziel and would never want to bring a negative light on his name or school. Sounds like a guy I'd want to be my QB.

McClendon reminds me of a stronger faster Joel Steed.. I expect him to have a monster year and next years draft NT won't be an area of need.. I kinda thinking the Steelers kept his snap count low on purpose last year.. To make sure they could sign him this year.

    SB,

I really like Bridgewater too... Too bad he'll more than likely go #1 in the draft. I've seen a couple interviews and reports on our draft class this year, and I got to say its a nice surprised to see how much more humble this class is.. J.Jones, L.Bell, and M.Wheaton all very capable humble guys.. hopefullly they stay that way. After drafting a couple of question marks last year - its refreshing to hear this from our 2013 draft class.

    enjoy,

Johnny Football will be sheet in the NFL, mark my words. One good hit from someone like Harrison, and his dancing and prancing will be OVER. I mean he had a better OL than Ben, pretty easy to find running room when you have Jake Matthews and Luke Joeckal as your two starting OT's.

HUGE fan of Bridgwater, talented but down to Earth. Manziel has a little Honey Bladder in him, you just want to take a belt sander and grind that snarky smirk right off his fugly face.
