Nope. He went to the Saints. Why did their secondary have to suck so bad.

It sucks, but at least he went to the NFC. It would have sucked if the Bengals would have jumped up to grab him, or some team like that.

3 depending if you count Burfict. I liked the kid and thought he could be something special if his head could be fixed. I would have been perfectly fine if they would have used a 7th rounder on him last year, but I do like Beachum a lot and Paulson looks to be a good TE for the Steelers.

Love the picks in the 7th Kruger and Poyer. I wanted Poyer earlier and we got him in the 7th! Told you the Eagles always go value with at least one pick in the 7th. And Poyer was definitely BPA. King should just be a practice squader. Seems like a guy the Eagles wanted to bring into camp for sure even if he likely wouldn't make the team.

I told you he is garbage and an idiot. Only reason I like him better than Jones is because he actually has the ability to be coached up and be great, even if the odds are low. Character-wise it is night and day though. FYI the Chiefs signed him.

Looking at some UDFAs and Buffalo got a few good names: Eastern Washington WR Brandon Kaufman; Howard LB Keith Pough; USC CB Nickell Robey(wouldn't draft him but good camp invite); Tennessee Tech WR Da'Rick Rogers (ANOTHER WR)

Buffalo REALLY stocking up on WRs.

    Eagles:
Iowa State LB Jake Knott; Stony Brook RB Miguel Maysonet; Arizona C Kyle Quinn; Oregon DT Isaac Remington; LSU WR Russell Shepard; Alabama DL Damion Square; Iowa OL Matt Tobin; TCU RB Matthew Tucker; LSU P Brad Wing.

Bolded some interesting selections including one of Chips guys.

Does anyone know if any of he players have college obligations that will keep the Rockies from attending the first OTAs, kind of like Adams and Decastro did last year?

  9. When do OTA's begin?

I expected Joe Madsen to be drafted. He will be on a learning curve, but I think he has a shot to make the PS. He was the Mounties best O lineman the last two seasons.

One of the things I liked about the Steelers draft was drafting for character. A for that.

Random thought about draft coverage - I like Mayock (find Eisen annoying) but felt the NFL Network were slow on announcing the picks and ignored too many of them overall. Hard thing to cover perfectly I guess. But ESPN seemed to keep on top of things better for the first 3 rounds (tough to listen too though).

  12. As bb would say, eggs-actly about drafting guys with good character. I'd rather have a guy with Wheaton's attitude than Patterson's, already loved the Wheaton pick and hearing about his character and smarts just adds to it.

I also have a new favorite prospect for 2014: Alabama safety HaHa Clinton-Dix.

Yes, a possible 1st round prospect's name is HaHa.

  13. And outside of Farrell and McNeal I do not know a ton about the UDFAs brought in, but I noticed a lot of offensive lineman. Outside of Beachum and maybe Malecki there are a good two or three spots up for grabs as reserve linemen so do not be surprised to see one or two make it.

Quite high on the WR with work ethic. Exactly what we need working hard down field after a play breaks down and Ben is improvising.

THE DRAFT IS GROWING ON ME....THE MORE I READ THE MORE I LIKE. STILL WISH WE TOOK BROWN ILB IN ROUND 2 BUT BELL WAS GOING TO BE THE GUY FROM THE GET GO. SO I WILL RIDE WITH HIM!

    ^^ WORD.

the run on RB was later on, I think Pitt could have grabbed Bell by trading back. Recent history in Big Ten backs in the NFL is disappointing

Just some important dates to take note of.

The second phase of the offseason workouts for the Pittsburgh Steelers got underway on Monday as coaches are now permitted to work with the players for individual instruction and position drills. In addition, this the first time that coaches can also hold short position meetings with players. In phase one of the offseason program, players were limited to just strength and conditioning workouts only outside of quarterbacks being allowed to throw to uncovered receivers.

Below is the official description from the CBA as to what can now take place in the second phase of the offseason:

Phase Two shall consist of the next three weeks of the Club's offseason workout program. Subject to the additional rules set forth in Section 5 of this Article, during Phase Two all coaches shall be allowed on the field. On-field workouts may include individual player instruction and drills, as well as "perfect play" drills (e.g., offense or defense only, but not offense vs. defense), or special teams drills on a "separates" basis (e.g.., kicking team or return team only, but not kicking team vs. return team). No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted. No offense vs. defense drills are permitted (e.g.., no one-on-one offensive linemen vs. defensive linemen pass rush or pass protection drills, no wide receivers vs. defensive backs bump and-run drills, and no one-on-one special teams drills involving both offense and defense are permitted.) Players cannot wear helmets during Phase Two.
In addition to the above the Steelers will bring all of their rookies in for the annual rookie camp that gets underway on Friday and ends on Sunday.

Looking ahead past this coming weekend, below are the dates for the Steelers OTA sessions and minicamp.

OTA Offseason Workouts: May 21-23, May 28-30, June 3-6

    Mandatory Minicamp: June 11-13
