I'm gonna puke if I hear how "smart" the 49ers and Seahawks are. They are gamblers and gamblers strike gold occasionally and just as often they swing and miss.

I agree on Seattle. And I apologize, since Harbaugh got to SF, they are smart. They're crushing this thing, and that guy always seems to know how to use his players. That's what he has over other coaches.

Seattle is getting lucky occasionally.

Aboushi was pretty bad at the senior bowl too. He can't play LT, I'm sure of that much.

 

After the Bills pick I may be gone for a good while.

 

The 49ers draft last year was putrid. Outstanding in 2010 but when you have the 11th and 17th the odds are in your favor. They still screwed it up by taking Taylor Mays in the 2nd - a guy most everyone agreed sucked as a football player. 2011 again they did well but they had the 7th pick. You're supposed to get that right and then the Kaepernick pick looks great so they deserve credit. Basically they've done well when they had really high first round picks and then found Kaepernick and Bowman. Outside of that their drafts have been very poor.

Seattle has screwed the pooch on three of their last four top picks (Curry, Carpenter, Irvin). They've made dumb trades (Whitehurst), poor FA signings (Flynn, Rice).

Lots of swinging and missing but the NFL community only seems to notice the home runs.

 

Make that the Chargers. My one bro wants to see that. lol.

 

Every team misses though. As long as you hit enough of the time, and use your players properly, you're allowed to miss a third of the time. There are the reverse, teams with good players who consistently screw up gameplanning (i.e. Dallas)

As players I agree. They could come around. As 1st round picks, they are a failure because they were never first round picks IMO.

 

And Aldon Smith might be the best example of why I'm right on SF. People thought he was a reach at 7, they were criticized some early, but man did he work out. Again though, part of that might be Jim Harbaugh. You put him on JAX, he probably busts.

 

I agree every team misses and the Seahawks and 49ers have missed often - as recently as last year. My ire comes from all the praise they are getting as if their picks are golden all of a sudden. I like Baalke and Schneider but I'd put them behind guys like Newsome, Reese, Thompson and Colbert. They don't get to draft in the Top Ten and have to make hay in the later rounds to be successful.
