I don't watch as much tape as you, so I'll buy that, but I do have to ask. Why was Shemarko at 100 and Wolff at 116 on your board if you believe that? (Not meant to be confrontational, I'm genuinely curious.) I haven't seen much of either so I don't have a personal opinion, just compiling the information I can to build one.

Just saying but how would you know? I would guess they got their guy in Shamarko since they traded up.

soemtimes you rate people higher cos you think that the league does , a good example is the 2011 draft ,or was it 2010...either way i had sean lee as the better LB prospect but just ranked mcclain higher due to me knowing he would go insdie the top 15, but i liked lee a lot more.

i made my personal preference known.

p.s. Shamarko is 1" taller than Tim Jennings who did alright at CB this year. Size matters, I get that but it's just one factor.

  7. I don't even think the Jones pick was bad so much as it was just a reach. Jones was a 1st round talent for three years. I watched OU last year and the offense he was in was just awful, he had nothing to work with and bad play calling. They needed a young QB imo because Ben and Bruce are no spring chickens.

for the record i didnt like Elam the Keebler Elf either

  9. You could say the same about Thomas though, they showed a ton of interest to him as well. Carnell Lake believed he'd be a 1st round pick if it weren't for his size.

As for this size matters stuff, its true to a point i mean having a 5'6 RB is not advised but exceptions to the rule exist like all things, smaller guys will find it harder to cover. i dont like having db's less than like 5'10 but some kids play nastier and can handle it-depends where you play him, if its FS...i can definately see why size is an issue.

measureables are nice but technique, consistency and awareness are all more important.

Shamarko could prove to be a good pick, honestly.

    But Landry was a FAIL.

BTW, it's not just you guys. Colts just took C Khaled Holmes. So we're screwing up in this round too.

  12. True, I guess we will see which Jones they get. If they get the 2009-2011 Jones it is a steal. If they get the 2012 Jones uh ohh.

Here's the funny part of selecting Landry. Big Ben gets everything done by being big enough to shake off sacks until receivers come open. Landry gets pressure, he throws horrible interceptions. One of the worst QB's under pressure in this class, and this isn't a good class. So that was truly a horrible pick for how PIT operates...

Isn't he the same height as Polamalu...

  15. It was probably a 1a and 1b type deal because I know Thomas was in for a visit and I think they were there at his pro day.

it was influenced by who they liked quite honestly and then averaged in two draft site rankings to where i felt comfortable i liked 116 better but i thought the Steelers would value 100 higher does that make sense?

I'm thinking Tomlin doesn't want to draft anyone taller than him.. that has to me the eggs-planation... :)

    enjoy,

  18. Alright so let's look forward to the next four picks (5 if Dwyer is moved), what are we thinking?

yeah but he has 3" of hair so he looks like he"s 6-1! Troy Polamalu is a once in a generation SS

Visiting someone multiple times doesn't mean you love the guy. It also means you just need to scout him more but aren't sure and then you don't really like him when you visit. Look at the Jags and the QBs. Tons of interest and in the end they said "meh".
