With regard to Coates, must be convinced he won't be the player he was the first month of last season. May have simply decided to pursue trade possibilities for any of their plethora of receivers (8 capable of making rosters in the NFL in my opinion), and Coates may have been the only one vs Hunter/HeyBey. And after drafting Schuster, the may simply feel they're set at WR for the next few years. I don't think they'll resign/extend BOTH Bryant/Rogers for mid-range money next summer, but they may try to for one of them.
In that circumstance, Joe will eventually get better while Sammie likely will not. Best of luck to you this season - with two notable exceptions.
Oh, Joe WILL play both games against the Browns this year. Its the 14 games in between those two you should be concerned about.
Hope you are wrong Lyman, but I would be excited if I were a Browns fan to get Coates because he can at times be a dangerous weapon and your new QB (Kizer) as I predicted all along and before the draft will be really good.
I'm sifting through the cuts of other teams and was wondering if there are some players now out there that you guys would like for the Steelers to look at: DL Zippity Do-Dah from the Giants was a name we all talked about a year or two ago, the Bengals also let go of veteran OL Winston just to name a couple.

Colin Holba - the Steelers 6th Round (213th Overall) 2017 NFL draft pick - was beat out by Kameron Canaday. Wasn't Canaday at one point released from the Roster this preseason?
I agree but same could be said of any draft pick that doesn't make it. The Bengals 5th round kicker was released. However, your boy Allen made the team!
Looks like I almost nailed the roster with my picks from the "Roster & PS Predictions" thread Other than Dobbs (who I thought they might put on practice squad to start season) and Sensabaugh making team; and Coates being traded and the 6th round long snapper being cut, I think I got every other pick right including Watson, Grimble, Feiler, Allen, Fort, Hawkins, Golden, Big Dan McCullers, and Walton. Feeling good about myself. Maybe we can pick up a better offensive linemen than Feiler once other teams make their cuts. If Sutton goes on injured list, maybe another corner too? Thoughts?
I've counted the roster (per Steelers.com) and come up with 54 players listed. Did Le'Veon Bell actually sign his franchise tender? I read that, to get Cam Sutton on the IR-designate to return, he had to first make the 53-man roster. http://www.steelersdepot.com/2017/09/can-rb-leveon-bell-steelers-54th-player-cutdown-day/
Does anyone have something on Mike Hilton? I see he is one of the CBs kept. I haven't seen or heard much of him.
