Correct Fish, It was Joe Medwick. I don't think Medwick and Hornsby played in the same era's........I could be mistaken but I don't think so....

There was a little overlap between Hornsby and Medwick. Hornsby played from 1915-1937, although he was more or less a part-time player after 1931. Medwick's career started in 1932.

    Next question:

How many hits could be made in an inning without a run being scored?

name the only two players before 1985 that won back to back mvps and are not in the hall of fame?

  9. igloofn68 Guest

Dale Murphy and Hal Newhauser? Newhauser is the only pitcher in MLB history to win back to back MVP's. I didn't know he wasn't in the HOF though......interesting.....

  10. Catfish Guest

prince hal newhouser is in the HOF igloo. Murphy is right. you need one more...

  11. igloofn68 Guest

    Gil Hodges, Don Mattingly?

  12. Catfish Guest

IGLOO--Not even close. mattingly never won 2. he was going to but the voters gave it to roger clemens which infuriated mattingly as he believed they have their own award.

    do you want the answer?

  13. igloofn68 Guest

No, I'll throw up a couple more names tomorrow....Watching the Pens right now....

  14. igloofn68 Guest

Pens lose in a SO in last game before the Olympics.......Other player to win 2 consecutive MVP's not in the Hall would be Roger Maris!

  15. Catfish Guest

    yes igloo, it's maris.

what is the nickname of hof pitcher carl hubbell?

    scarecrow

    bean stalk

    meal ticket

    or the real deal

  16. alfred41 Guest

    King...or meal ticket

  17. Catfish Guest

    its meal ticket.

who is the only player to win the all-star and world series mvps in the same season.

  18. igloofn68 Guest

Derek Jeter? I also came up with Roidsman Clemens but Jeter seems more likely so I'll go with him. As I said before, you can't take "everything that's on the internet" to the bank......

  19. Catfish Guest

correct igloo. wow, i thought that would be a hard one.

clemens never won a ws mvp ! the once great sp is now the turd mvp!

this is an obscure and easy one---if you took all of his HRS away, he would still have over 3000 hits - who is it?

  20. easy lol - pete rose.
