    LOL you're welcome Cat :)

I can't believe that my ancestor came across from France when he was only 21 years old, isn't that incredible? What an adventure!!

So are you going walking again today? I'm just about ready to put my running shoes on and get outside. I taught a yoga class this morning so now I need to get my 'sweat' on lol ...

wow-that's nuts. coming over on 1651 is super cool. i just watched 2 documentaries on the building and making of America, so I can't imagine the struggles they had back then for food and housing etc.

I am waiting on a call for my new glasses, so hopefully i can pick them up and get out as it's 75 degrees today. My cats are loving life as they sit on my windows and look through my screens. they love the warm temps.

It's great when the temperatures warm up outside ... it makes me antsy to get outside!

I'm not working today so it's a day constructed around workouts.

    10:00 HIIT
    10:30 Weight and Strength Training
    11:30 yoga
    1:00 tai chi
    2:00 hike.

That's it. After that I'ma lay down and die ... LOL

damn girl you're like Super Woman or the $6 million dollar woman!

LOL ... my feet were killing me at the end of the day. Switching from wearing my heavy winter boots when I snowshoe or hike in the winter to my running shoes (which feel like they are about 10 lbs lighter) in the spring means I go that much faster and push harder.

    So yeah ... ow. LOL

  7. Catfish Guest

how much snow do you have up there ?

  8. babyfan Legend Patreon Platinum Bears Babyfan's P.C. Yoga

Oops, sorry Cat, I didn't see this until now.

The snow is almost all gone now. There's still bunches of it lying in northerly-facing ditches and in the forests but the even ground is trying to dry up.

"Where there is hope, there is life" ... I have daffodils and crocuses coming up!!

I've also had a flu for the last 3 days so no working out for me.

  9. Catfish Guest

the flu is no fun. hope you're feeling better.

we missed a snowstorm last night as it moved out to see. they were calling for 6-8 inches. phew. to me winter is over so no more damn snow.

temps will climb back to the 70's this week after a very cold weekend. come on spring.

Thanks Cat, I'm rallying from the flu. I feel SO much better today! It's snowing here and it's cold but that's not going to detract me from getting right back into my workout and then a hike later today. It's going to be cold but fun!

i wish i had your determination and spirit. you're a trooper.

    LOL thanks Cat :)

I just got in from a scant 2 km hike. Very disappointing but the weather has really turned. It's blowing up a blizzard out there and the snow is flying sideways because the winds are so strong. I'll get out again this afternoon when hopefully things will be calmer.

Time to hit the workout space :)

omg! you may be Superwoman! Wow. I see snow and I see indoors and my bed for a nap! Not you - you go out in it and then go out some more when it calms down. You get an A for effort and an A for heart and determination in my book sister.

    I get an F because I'm a slug!

Hardly ... LOL I've seen Superwoman on tv and I'm not her :)

Once the temperatures are warmer you'll be back out there, I'm sure. This damn flu is sure hanging on though ... but I'm ignoring it and I'm off to teach yoga, tai chi and qigong this morning. I'm sure I'll feel better once I'm finished class. I hope LOL

I found a really cool program on the net called DAREBEE and it gives you acess to tons of different training programs, both for muscle-building and for weight loss. You can change them up and rotate them or stick to the same one. It's pretty cool. I have it on my phone so I can use the programs outside if I want to. Also, it's free ... yay!

  15. A little late to this thread, but oh well...

I used to train and teach martial arts when I lived in Baltimore. I'll train my daughters at the local Y. Have some people asking questions so maybe I could start another school?

Now in rural PA I coach wrestling at our local HS. Having trained in MMA for a while helps me teach footwork and nuance to kids when they compete. Wrestling for an hour can burn 900 calories. Do it with our 270lb junior heavy weight and you can adjust that number upward. I can lose 5 pounds in a 75min practice nit to mention there's no better workout for your core.

I also hit the heavy bag - have to put it out in the barn as opposed to the basement. Moisture in old farm houses' basements are brutal on leather and canvas.

At the gym its weights and the pool. In the cold months we snowboard, in the warm months we hike and swim outdoors.

I'll tell you though, work around a farm, even as a part-time gentlemen farmer, is a helluva way to burn calories. Split wood with an axe for an hour and see. Stack a truck load of hay in the barn and you can skip a day in the weight room or cross-fit studio. And the large veggie garden we have for the extended family can be physically exhausting if you have time to till and plant by hand.

I'll have to go back through and read more of these posts. Wondered about how others here stay busy.

    thanks, i'll check it out.

I love the heavy bag, but it usually gets a lot lighter after I get to grinding on it. Catfish, find you a nymph and you won't have to worry about excercise anymore.

  19. Catfish Guest

if only that easy. i'll take a normal Girlfriend right now for starters. baha.

when you hit the bag do you envision andy daulton's face on it or joe flacco's? haha

When I hit the bag it goes up in smoke!
