Now that sounds like a good plan Cat. I think golf just gets that much better the more I drink and my playing doesn't suffer either. Or so I think ...

Golf is like hockey without hitting, fighting, skating, goalies, pucks, ice, nets, missing teeth, tenacity or athletic skill.

    wait...

Golf is nothing like hockey. However I still endorse it as a sport as it allows me the freedom to drink and drive without facing penalty of law.

    no athletic skill ?

ok - hit a golf ball straight with a driver. looks harder than it is and im bet you will slice into the woods like many golfers including myself.

then hit an iron shot straight 150+ yrds.

then use a wedge and chip onto a green. if in sand - use a sand wedge and don't duff it.

then after all that read the green correctly and sink a putt. good luck. my guess this is now your 7th shot. lol

if all that isn't athletic to you than i don't know what to tell you. hitting a golf ball straight is very hard and golf overall is a hell of a lot harder than dribbling and shooting a basketball! or being 350 pounds and blocking for a running back.

well john has 2 majors. he was very talented. just a nut case. you can be fat and still be athletic.

This gets into the 'skill vs athleticism' debate.

IMO - Golf requires a great amount of skill, but it does not require you to be athletic.

I think I agree with this.
And I'm not saying this to try to get a raise either.

    Or am I ...

So you're actually both saying the same thing then right?

I'm pretty sure any physical activity geared toward getting in shape would be rejected by my body.

    Really?
I'll bet that your body would thank you instead of reject you :)

Has it been awhile since you worked out?

You can be an "athlete" and not be in athletic shape.

Lots of baseball players get away with it...mainly pitchers.

Na I get a work out almost everyday in my job. Lot of physical activity (lifting and moving heavy items) and walking. I was just jesting lol.

    Okay I'll calm down. LOL
I get excited when I sense someone is looking for direction in their workouts. :)

What's your preference, HIT or Tabata workouts?

(The differences between the two methods are that rest and work periods in Tabata are shorter compared to HIIT, and Tabata pushes the limit on the percentage of your maximum heart rate.)

Do you think it's better to keep your workouts moving fast, to have them last for 5-15 minutes with only 0-10 seconds rest between moves or do you prefer to do the 60 minute cardio, 60 minute strength-training route?

I go to the gym - my rec room is reserved for the pool table, beer fridge, TV...

I still play softball for company team (against guys half my age).
