    LOL

Another Member of the 'Bacon Club of America'!

I'm a vegetarian and even though I like the smell of bacon, I don't eat it. I also don't mind the smell of a roasting chicken or steak on the barbeque but ... I don't eat any of it.

    For real right?
Your body weight resting on just your arms ... how is that NOT a great strength-training tool?

I'm going to do some practice again today. I'd like to be able to do a bunch of them without falling on my head and killing myself. Thanks for the idea Bww!

I don't eat bacon often, but only because I have zero willpower and I'd eat it every day with every meal if I could.

Can't imagine not having chicken just about every day.

Although ... Argentinian women are gorgeous so maybe I should just take it and run with it.

So it's snowing here like crazy. That leaves me with really only 3 options for my outside workout of the day. Snowshoeing, x country skiing or hiking in the snow. All 3 of those will present quite a challenge today because of the conditions. The snow is covering up a thick layer of ice and the terriain is very uneven (I go through forests, swamps and fields) which is also a little dangerous since my balance isn't great since my fall from our roof in 2000.

So in order to work up a sweat I'm going to have to blast through whatever I do.

    So I'll probably die.

That's pretty awesome and accurate Bww ...

When I was living out in Banff, Alberta I went skiing with a bunch of friends. We skied Sunshine during the morning of May 10th, and I skied in my bikini. It was amazing snow, corn snow to be precise and the skiing was incredible. Except when I'd fall which hurt big time. We went back into the resort for a liquid lunch (BEER) and then jumped into the car and drove to Invermere BC to go windsurfing which I did in the same bikini. I always thought that was pretty cool ... I skied on the snow in my bikini in the morning, got drunk and then went windsurfing on the water in the same bikini.

baby-how the hell did you fall off a roof ? that sounds like a terrible accident. how high was it ?

Well ... I wasn't thinking. It was a 2 months after I lost my family in a drinking and driving car accident and I guess I just wasn't thinking clearly. Our tv satellite was out because it had been freezing rain the night before so I climbed up on the roof via a ladder to clearn the dish off. The dish was on the other side of the roof so I had to go over the peak which I did sort of. I cleaned off the satellite but when I got back up to the peak again I couldn't remember how I got my legs over so I did something wrong and I lost my grip. Because it had been freezing rain and the roof was all covered in ice I really picked up speed coming down off of it. I hit the ladder with my feet and slammed down on the deck on top of the ladder. It knocked me out for about 45 minutes and then I woke up because it was snowing and I'm allergic to the cold so my skin was reacting to the snow. So ... I sustained a neck injury which resulted in chronic and acute pain. That was 16 years ago and it was a big reason why I started teaching yoga, tai chi and qigong because I don't want to live on morphine and oxycotins ... so I chose to go the route of movement and meditation to deal with my pain.

    LOL that's a long story. Sorry :)

How many people rely on going to the gym for their workout? I don't go to the gym anymore because I have a pretty well-equipped gym in my basement. Do any of you participate in any competitive sports?

  19. Catfish Guest

wow - that's horrible to read that. very sorry.

competitive sports ? not really. i play in a couple softball tournament throughout the year if i can and i golf a few times a year.

    Thanks Catfish :)

That's what I was wondering about ... if many of you play in recreational or competitive sports.

I don't really play competitive sports. I used to before my fall but not anymore. I do golf a few times a year but it doesn't really interest me that much. I'm absolutely depth-perception challenged so my balls never go where they're supposed to. I prefer to patronize the drink cart LOL
