    (CNN Business)Mr. Peanut, the 104-year old mascot of the Planters snack food company, has died after sacrificing himself in what appears to be a traumatic road accident.

    Sounds like the perfect setup for a Super Bowl commercial!
    Planters made the announcement in a series of tweets and news releases Wednesday. "In the ultimate selfless act, he sacrificed himself to save his friends when they needed him most,"

    Happened on the 15th chistopher tolikien passed away at the age of 95. He was instramental in getting a number of his late fathers stories published(pretty much everthing after the hobbit and lotr). He also drew the original maps for lord of the rings.

    R. I. P. Kobe......I was never a fan, but always respected his incredible talent. Very sad. My heart goes out to that family.

    Dawg.............Great post...........I'm not big fan of Basketball but really impressed with Kobes game.

    This is sad............LeBron James broke his all time points in the NBA the night before he died.......RIP Kobe.

    Such a tragedy. When the reports came that his daughter and another kid was in the helicopter I got sick to my stomach. Seriously awful.

    There's no relation to the '83 Orioles manager Joe Altobelli.

    Actor Orson Bean, local theater mainstay who rose to fame as a 1950s TV personality, dies

    Bean’s onstage antics included stand-up comedy and magic tricks as he made the rounds on game shows and late-night television. He was fondly remembered by baby boomers for bringing his wit and sophistication to “What’s My Line?,” “I’ve Got a Secret” and “To Tell the Truth” and guest-starring in variety series and talk shows, including “The Ed Sullivan Show,” “The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson” and “The Mike Douglas Show.” Later in his career, he starred in “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman,” “Being John Malkovich” and “Desperate Housewives” while racking up dozens of guest appearance credits, with “Two and a Half Men,” “The Closer,” “Modern Family” and “How I Met Your Mother” among them.

    He voiced Bilbo and Frodo Baggins in the 1977 and 1980 animated adaptations of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” and “The Return of the King,” appeared on “The Love Boat,” “One Life to Live,” “The Facts of Life” and “Murder, She Wrote.”
