Damn. I missed the Peter Fonda death. I was in Mexico. Easy Rider is not a great film. It was an important film, but not a great movie. The story is about SOCIAL ACCEPTANCE and CHANGES... oh yeah, and drugs (along with the rise of American counter-culture that came with it). It's a fountain of conversation and philosophical perspectives. But as a movie, it's a tough watch. Some points just go into a lull and some of the trip scenes are a bit drawn out, like watching a dance performance, at times. Hopper and his friends (Nicholson/Fonda/Karen Black and Tony Basil) carry the movie to the height you could expect for this subject matter and budget. Again, Easy Rider is an important piece of cinema but it is not a great film.

I'd be 105. Seriously - I'll take it, as long as I can still function reasonably well.
