Exactly. I want to know who the fuckwads are so I can more easily avoid them. Reveal yourselves SHITBAGS!!! I already know they exist and social media gives them another opportunity to show it. Take it off BITCHES!

And there in lies part of the problem what is said doesn't matter its how everyone takes it. Because the woman she spoke of is black it was automatically made racist regardless of whether it was intended that way or not. Sure she could say it wasn't meant that way but as you already pointed out no one is going to believe her. Heck even if it wasn't her and it was somebody else people still wouldn't believe it wasn't meant as a racist remark because what someone says is not as important as what someone else hears/reads. Which IMHO is wrong.

I wonder if had been a line on her show would everyone be in uproar about it or is it only evil because it was tweeted?

    1. It would've been a problem either way.
    2. She hasn't said that she didn't mean it as a distinctly racist remark.
    3. Again, this is a well-known racist slur, going back well over a hundred years. She's not the first person to be fired in modern media for saying it. This is not a case of, "I had no idea!". This is not in dispute, even by Roseanne.

I honestly didn't think anyone would try to defend her. This is pretty mind-blowing. I'm glad we're having this conversation.

Being an asshole is one thing. It's completely another to be espousing racism. Sorry, but I'm not going to just ignore it (i.e., not get my panties in a wad over it) - some things (racism, sexism, homophobia) are worth fighting against.

    1) Agreed - but it's MORE of a problem here because it came from Roseanne the person and not Roseanne the character.
    2) She's attempting a back-track by saying she didn't know Valerie Jarrett is black
    3) Agreed. We're well beyond the time of not knowing that referring to a black person as an ape or monkey has significant racial overtones.

Not knowing that Mr/Mrs/Miss Widget is black or whatever ethnicity doesn’t excuse the thought processes that exist prior to saying anything or typing anything derogatory about another persons’ race or background. The very idea that you would PERCEIVE ANYONE in this way is shameful enough. Roseanne Barr is a bag of shit. PERIOD.

^^^The single greatest live performance of the pre-game bullshit parade... EVER. Seriously, after that, the parade should’ve been put to rest for good.

    Dwight Clark 61 years old.
Remembered forever for the catch that closed the door on Tom Landry getting back to the SB.
Drink one in remembrance of this beautiful highlight of Clark’s career.

Thank you for bringing it back to the actual thread content. Clark was a great one as well as being a part of one of the most iconic plays in NFL history. Clark stated he felt his ALS was related to the rigors of playing football.

Sad to see Clark gone. I don't know how playing in the NFL could give you ALS. I'm sure like CTE it could come from the impact and constant hits over a 16 game schedule, playoffs, practices and longevity.

I knew someone who had ALS 30 yrs ago. She didn't play sports. It's a awful disease with no cure and it's just horrible to see anyone die like that. This person lived 5 long years with it.

No disrespect for Mr. Dwight "The Catch" Clark...... I was rooting for the other team on that day. :wall:

But now is there going to be another mad scramble for his brain ?? Or will they leave it alone.

Were you a Cowboys fan back then? Otherwise, why would you root for that team?
