just re-watched "the People vs Larry Flynt" this weekend. Good movie but the casting of Courtney Love was just awful. She is awful in it and couldn't act her way out of a wet bag.

    R. Lee Ermey, a former Marine Corps drill instructor known to millions of moviegoers as the sadistic Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Stanley Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket," died Sunday morning, according to his longtime manager. He was 74.

initially this was an internet hoax, but then his manager confirmed it.

about 20 yrs ago, my friend was living in San Diego and that's when the Super Bowl was played there. My buddy was in a local dive bar with some friends as many celebs were walking around. in walks in R. Lee Ermey. He came in for 1 beer and stayed for hours and hours. He took pictures and signed autographs. He did shots and drank beers with them for hours. They asked him for a favor...could he call their friend's answering machine in the Gunney voice and bitch him out. He happy obliged. He calls the answering machine and goes off "Bryan Smith you slimy maggot fucker, I'm going to tear off your balls and feed them to you, etc, etc." It went on for 2 minutes. The friend calls them the next day and ask "who was that guy who left that message on my machine, he sounds like R. Lee Ermey?" They said "it was R. Lee Ermey!!"

Here's a picture of R. Lee with 2 of my buddies. They said he was a really nice guy and very friendly.

This is a tough one. She's my favorite first lady of all time. But at 92 and in failing health, whatever her wishes are from here on out, I hope they come true.

7th grade, loved staying up late all year and watching Night Court after the news.
