Ravens @ Panthers, Week 8 Gameday Thread

Flacco got us a ring that ONE year but we kinda sold our contractual salary cap soul for that ring, ultimately, that was the cost of the ring and i think most ppl take a ring given how rare it is but fuck me if this isnt to be expected.

He just has never been that good, even with the up and down talent around him, the most successful he has looked to me was with Q ( an underated beast) and with Ray rice out the back field. Lamar is not ready, and probably wont be ready next year, so its gonna be a long couple of years which is a shame because this D is fucking good and it wont get the hype and respect it deserves because of shit gameplanning and an inept inconsistent offense.

John is a slightly better version of tomlin to me, i want a tactical coach, id take a rex ryan in a heartbeat ( ok maybe not now but at least someone in that mould), a guy who bring legit tactical understanding of a given side of the football and above all wont just fucking hire friends. how many years has harbs' friendship circle jerk cost us?

EDIT: i know the game isnt over and we could claw it back but this performance coupled with last weeks horseshit is absurdly frustrating to see. That D is so fucking good and this is what we get.

 

99 yard drive near the end of the half. This D isn't playing near as well as previously

Stanley is probably done for the season. They slung Joe into the side of his knee, most likely an MCL or possible ACL.

Eh, im not against it but it wont be any better, jackson is not remotely ready right now, his mechanics are still woeful.

i hope we just get a move on with the future restructuring and get rid of harbs and co. its likely we end up in the 7-9 to 9-7 range and mid round pick. although we could play like the first 6 weeks and do work but who knows. its just depressing.

He definitely isn't ready, I agree. But Joe is playing scared right now and he needs to grab the pine, just to get his fkin head back into the game and get reminded that he is always replaceable. Those last 2 picks were plain stupidity. Wake the hell up and stop playing like your already defeated.

 

they are rookie mistakes, literally rookie ass shit. Joe really hasnt change much at all. Same issues, no touch, gets flustered so easily and then panics. its upsetting- he needs a release valve and he doesnt have it in this team.

The D and not being able to cover TE's is STILL coming up every damn game. Pathetic that they cannot get that fixed.

the LB's are jumping routes and essentially overpursuing so the gaps are huge, and we dont have great coverage lb's anyway. the scheme has gone to shit as the D is taking risks

Cam ran the ball multiple times that drive and they STILL didn't even consider that he'd try to run again.

Fuck #1 rankings, this defense is overrated as hell. All that talent and no clue what to do with it.

And get Joe off the field. Just let Lamar get in game experience, this game is over regardless

 

i dont think the talent on the D is overated, i think we are playing desperate now and we lost henry.

This D is good, this team is not good

as for jackson, i agree at this point, we have nothing to lose

And that's why I don't fall into the notion that Lamar is 2 years away. He simply doesn't have experience. Joe was supposedly a year or two away his rookie year also, being a D3 QB (or was it D2).

Lamar, 3 of 3 on that drive with a 26 yard TD. Panthers may have given up the underneath, but they didn't just let that TD happen

 

Joe Flacco will NOT be a Raven next year, that is a guarantee. This season is going down the drain fast. I think it is time to bench him and let Lamar have the reins. He can get out of a collapsing pocket MUCH better than Joe statue, and he makes better decisions than Joe does already. I think the rush game will IMPROVE when Lamar takes over as well just because he can run and escape trouble.

 

it's a valid point regarding how far he is away. I guess you dont really need great mechanics to succeed if the threat of a roll out and run is always there.

his throwing action scares the shit out of me but then again a 6'6 qb keeps getting his passes batted because he cant help but telegraph throws.

I dont think we will inherently be better with lamar but at this point im ok with moving on without joe and get the kid some reps and see where we stand at the end of the season.

Of course, none of this happens though because fuck John.
