    Notable Cuts so far :

Shane Lechler cut from the Texans, Sterling Moore from the Lions, Gino Gradkowski from the Jets (he's done clearly), Kevin Minter from the Jets (old and washed up), Charles Sims from the Bucs (once thought to replace Doug Martin as the starter)

Braxton Miller , Ohio State QB turned WR cut from the Texans as well

Now come the hard decisions. I think all of those, for the most part, were the easy choices and now the rubber really hits the road as to what the plan is. I think the other cuts from other teams will shape what the Ravens do and we will know in just a few hours. I do expect a trade to happen, perhaps for Vedvik, RG or even Kaufusi. He played his butt off in the last game and that will make an impression to a d line needy team. That plus his 3rd round draft tag and we may see a trade happen.

I also remember hearing that because we participated in the international player program that we have an 11th slot on the practice squad available to us. Not sure if that has to be used for an international player but I do remember hearing that remark in one of the last few preseason games.

  3. Notable cuts so far:
    Players waived:
    • CB Robertson Daniel - Has some talent, but we're deep
    • G/T Andrew Donnal - journeyman, never really stuck anywhere
    • G Justin Evans
    • ILB Alvin Jones (injured)
    • TE Nick Keizer - Good player, nice guy, looked good in TC, just too deep at TE
    • DE Christian LaCouture - has strength and skill, just too deep here
    • S Kai Nacua - This year's Omar Brown
    • CB Jackson Porter - mediocre player, too deep at DB
    • WR DeVier Posey - Journeyman, had some good moments but simply does not shine in this years class, maybe picks up somewhere else
    • LS Trent Sieg - never even had a chance barring injury to Cox
    Placed on injured reserve:
    • S DeShon Elliott (fractured forearm) - Was looking good until his injury, not Chuck Clarke good, but good, cut and injury settlement likely
    • DB Bennett Jackson (unknown) - not much seen from him, likely cut and/or injury settlement
    • CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste (broken arm) - Looked pretty good, attitude issues but he seemed here, could pick up on another team
    • T Greg Senat (foot) - has size and some skill, but was in Harbs dog house, likely cut unless injuries to OL pile up early
Remain on Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform:
    • WR Quincy Adeboyejo (leg)
    • CB Jaylen Hill (knee)
    • LB Bam Bradley (knee)
All were considered good developmental players and have played in games, could be they remain on PUP as reserve for starter injuries. What is that, like a 6 week deal?

  4. *EDIT - I'll be very interested to see what, if any, players are on the trading block. RG3 could fetch a nice pick. Vedvik would be prime for a punter/kicker needy team. And there are several on the D-line that could end up being trade bait.

I can't see anything higher than a 6th for Griffin. He's played well enough this fall to garner some looks, but he still has a stigma about him that will keep his price low.

I wouldn't be surprised if Carolina or Houston would be the front runners to grab him.

The thing about Vedvik is that most punter/kicker needy teams are not playoff teams, thus would have the top waiver claims. So the only way the Ravens would be able to trade Vedvick would be if one of those teams, or by some surprise a playoff team, didn't believe he would make to them, then they might offer up a low round draft pick. Maybe a 6th.

I can't see RG3 being on anyone's "must have" list where they would part with a pick rather than simply wait for him to be waived.

Carolina stands out because they could give up that 6th or 7th to secure a long term option to back up the young franchise quarterback, something that is very difficult to do with a late pick in the draft.

I'd still take a 6th for him. I'd also be fine with 3 QBs on the roster for a time as the need for him will likely grow in the next couple weeks especially for the teams you mentioned. Ought to be an interesting story to watch.

This is my thinking exactly. He's probably the best punter that can be released. Thee's definitely a risk of losing him and getting nothing. He'll go to the PS or get traded imo. If they had plans on replacing Koch at any time getting stashed on the "IR" would've happened by now. Hopefully we can find one of those play-off teams, outside the AFC, willing to give any pick for him. Not holding my breath, but....

Not sure why anyone would think that. He's not a character problem. He's more professional and humble now than ever. He's going to have a better reboot to his career than Vick for sure. He can should a team to the play offs imo if needed. He certainly as good as if not better that Tyrod Taylor.

  10. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

If a team needs a long term option to back up their QB (in case of injury), then I submit that the type of QB they have as their starter is a bigger problem than finding a long term solution for a back up.

Considering the kind of injury Watson suffered in his rookie season combined with his style of play, finding a long term solution as his back-up is simply smart football.

They believe they have the answer they've been looking for at quarterback, so getting someone that can step in for a game or two if Watson gets dinged cannot be viewed as anything other than the wise choice.

The biggest trait for a back up QB to have is durability. In the (now) six years since he was drafted, he's been available to play a full 16 game schedule only once - his 1st year.

    Kyreal likes this.
  14. That sucks.

  15. I disagree. I think durability is a better trait in a starter. Many back ups are backs ups because they can't stay healthy for 16 games. Also, injury issues are not necessarily career long trends. I think RG3 is an ideal b/u right now capable of at least 4 games and potentially a d solid starter is called into duty if he learned his lesson about taking risks as a runner.

Tim White and Albert McClellan are among the cuts today according to baltimoreravens.com. Siragusa is confirmed as well, his knee isn't ready yet. Randin Crecelius an undrafted OL and TE Nick Keizer so far.

With Tim's cut, I think Perriman will end up on the opening roster

  17. Not a Ravens issue, but Khalil Mack was traded to the Bears today. No idea what they paid in picks to get him, but they'll presumable extend him and give him something like Donald's contract next year. Raiders could end up regretting this move and the NFC North could end up being flipped on its head.

  18. I'm bummed about all of these except Crecelius. Nico could've been a nice player for us. Would've been great to have the Goose and Zeus combo again. I hope White's cut doesn't turn into another Bobby Rainey loss. He was difficult cut and we ended up regretting it when our RB situation bottomed out 2014. McClellan was always a low-key player, but a ST ace. My guess is that CJ Board took his spot. He's been consistently good in preseason and TC.

Raiders wanted 2 First rd draft picks

Just read on ProFootballRumors that Perriman has been cut. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2018/09/ravens-waive-wr-breshad-perriman

I hope they bring Siragusa back on the PS.

  20. I wasn't sure if they gave that amount, but now I'm seeing rumors that they did. They now have a pass rush, but that will come at the expense of paying their future QB(s).

Perriman isn't shocking at all. I just saw that the Bills just dropped Corey Coleman. He might be an even bigger bust than Perriman having been drafted earlier and a year later.

I'm at a loss for Goose. I hope they can put him on the PS at least. He was doing well from what I saw, but maybe I'm just biased over his name.
