Allen is not my favorite QB in this draft, but I do not want the Bills to spend what it would take to get up to the top 2. The guns on that guy - and the fact that he seems to like playing in the snow - are certainly endearing traits. I hope like hell that his accuracy can be improved through coaching, but I'm not sold on that concept. I would have liked to pick more WR's but I did not try to force this draft, and that's just how it came to me.
I mean he *could* be. He has undeniable physical traits and reportedly is a likable kid with the right attitude and approach. I just have a lot of concerns about a QB who struggles to put the ball on his receivers. I have him as my QB6.
Watch his Senior Bowl performance. Kid was dropping dimes. As long as he's willing to work, and all signs point to him being a hard-worker and very coachable, he'll be fine. You cant teach what that guy can do and you can't tackle him. He just shrugs guys off.
Dan, I really liked your last 3 picks. Super value for the later rounds. Taking Darius Leonard in the3rd was an EXCELLENT move and it made me re-think my 3rd round as well. Josh Allen could be the next “Roethlisberger”. Hopefully just Big Ben aspects w/o the Big Dumb parts.
I see this comp a lot. I actually thought that he looked a lot like Big Ben. So I went back and watched a game or two of Ben. Same with Flacco he just sort of looked like him out there so I watched a game or two. Both of those guys looked like QB's not Ricky Vaughn which is I think the real comp for Allen.
If the Saints don’t pick soon, I’mma have to start pulling out some more “firehalo” stories from the Wayback Machine.
LOL I have one damn pick left to make and I just want to get this wrapped up at this point... I don't want to hold things up but I may go AWOL until I am "officially" on the clock.
If he fell all the way again I was taking him with the very last pick once again for shits and giggles.
