gotchya. he might as well have had a .500 season and threw more pics than TDs like the all time grate did in '86.
Interesting question would be, what if the Bengals returned the final kick-off back for a TD, and instead of winning 20-16, the 49ers (and Montana) lost 23-20...? Because the special teams collapsed, now Joe Cool would no longer be the GOAT? Hmmm....
You do realize Bradshaw's game improved the further he went right? His post season stats are better than his regular season and his Super Bowl Stats are better than those. I believe they are posted somewhere on this site and I think I even posted his stats compared to some other greats. Ill see if I can find the post later because if I remember right several of the greats stats went up int he playoffs but then went down in the SB. If not when I egt the chance ill redo all of it (may not happen until next week as its a busy work week).
I totally realize his stats got better the later he got in the playoffs. That wasn't my point. Do I think he should be in the Hall? Yes, there are different roads.
Bradshaw was playing a lot better at the end of his career. He won the league MVP after his tenth season, he couldn’t even sniff that award before then. Coincidentally that was the first season that the Mel Blount rule went into effect. While I don’t care for the current Bradshaw and his attitude about the Steelers, he still became a great QB by the last few years of his career. And as far as turnovers go who cares? Back then the Steelers had the ability to overcome them. They beat the Oilers while turning the ball over eight times during the 1978 season AFCCG.
The Steelers did have the ability to overcome them. On teams that couldn't they'd be calling for his head and have it eventually.
Turnovers are a much bigger deal nowadays because the offenses are able to move the ball easier. Back in the 70’s if you had a good defense you probably wouldn’t have to sweat the turnovers because teams ran the ball so much.
I believe this is going to be the big hit this year. Right out of the Antonio Bandares Desperardo collection. Only available @ TB12 outlets, starting @ $4999.99.
No, NFL championships are not equivalent to Super Bowls and are like Conference Championships nowadays.
No, the point of the Season is winning the Super Bowl, if you lose, you are the biggest loser, lose earlier and you are a lesser loser.
I don’t know Sol, five SB victories is a lot. It will take Mason Rudolph about ten to thirteen seasons to break Brady’s record depending on how many seasons he has to wait to replace Ben.
Bart Starr didn't win 5 SBs and Brady lost 3, so he's even less eligible for GOAT than Ben. (Who is also ineligible)
