Prospects, and the future of the NHL

I ran this again today and it only took seven times for the correct team to win. Meanwhile, the Oil won it twice while I was working out the kinks.

I think #30 #29, & #28 will be locked in after tomorrow. I do not expect the Sabres to defeat the Jackets in Columbus. Edmonton already has #28 locked up.

 

Last time I did this in another season I got the Devils first try and the simulator said I had to try again because they forfeited their pick. I think they had the last spot in the lottery anyways.

This time I got the Oilers at 11.5%

 

For fun I ran it 100 times and see how they did compared to their odds:

Buffalo: 23 - 20%
Arizona: 17 - 13.5%
Edmonton: 14 - 11.5%
Toronto: 10 - 9.5%
Carolina: 10 - 8.5%
Columbus: 6 - 6%
Florida: 5 - 3.5%
Colorado: 4 - 5%
Dallas: 4 - 2.5%
Philadelphia: 3 - 6.5%
New Jersey: 3 - 7.5%
San Jose: 1 - 3.5%
Los Angeles: 0 - 2%
Ottawa: 0 - 1%

 

On April 1st that simulator always popped out the Kings who had the lowest odds. LOL.

Oh and I did it again today with the new odds and got the Leafs.

 

I hope the Oilers win the Lottery, or the Pens. The Pens can still get in.
If the Kings win, I'm going to break something.

 

So you want the Oilers to win then. They get 1st if the Pens do.

 

Exactly. Or do they just call the pick the Pens' pick at the lottery? I never paid attention to how that worked. Anybody know?

I just want to see Lowe lose by winning something. Then I want all the foil sales when the Pens get another high end talent. The league is fun when dozens of fanbases unite in contempt of another franchise.

 

In the actual lottery they use the Pens as a placeholder so we know which pick it is exactly. On those cards they show on TSN (don't know if NBC had something different) they just showed teams so it could have been a mystery until you noticed the pattern. But it went in reverse order so it was obvious.) This year they are showing the lottery itself live so it shouldn't matter anyways.

i just don't see how Katz can bring that crew back. I'm confident that he will but how can such a smart businessman not see what's directly in front of him.

 

How many times did you refresh so it rest the simulator count?

 

lol, i stole that from another site. i did the simulator earlier today and it took me 95 times.

Nah they'll take Eichel because they want to redo the Seguin thing so they'll take the elite but lower ranked American.

 

either way McDavid/Eichel gets flipped right when he starts hitting his stride.
