I'm not sure what gets me pumped up more, reviews of 7 on 7 drills at NFL training camps or reading about the weight players put on prior to NHL camp.

When the player is a prospect it's entirely germane given the name of this board.

I think it should help allay concerns if Jack and Sampson will be ready. Especially in Eich's case it points to an extremely dedicated prospect, and therefore a better future for the NHL.

I wasn't addressing your post specifically, just getting my thoughts out in front of the hundreds of reports due to be out in the next couple weeks.

Examples of stories, blogs, social media entries, radio interview comments, etc. I expect to hear:

-Galiev ate the still beating heart of a Cobra on a vacation in Vietnam. I thought that was noteworthy and the story should get better traction if he has a good year.

I hear Kari Lehtonen is working out for the first time in his career, for the eighth straight off season.

I'm interested in one weigh-in...Big Buff.
I should probably put that and the Kessel stuff in a different thread.

phil supposedly lost twelve lbs in his head this off-season. probably just krusty kreme ear-wax removal from some doctor. sleeping on doughnuts is not training.

I would have guessed the only diet change would be he drinks diet soda now.

It's just a phillusion, photo shopped, the real phil will re-emerge as an overweight penguin.

  17. in which case, he'll be gaining weight. the jury has already returned a verdict on most artificial sweeteners. stevia is probably not included, but you're better off drinking stuff full of sugar or HFCS than aspartame, among others.

Thats true, its amazing how it took so long for this to come out too. I noticed a big difference myself when i quit using the stuff... my brother also.

When are the rest of NHL hockey fans going to grow up and understand that the continued strength of hockey in traditional markets is dependent on growth in "non traditional" US markets?

Even after Que and the Rogers deal total CA revenue contributions will be less than 30% of the total at the 15 year and 20 year marks into the hard cap era.

When is non-traditional, traditional? 20years, 50 years....because lots have been there half a century now. People want the fucking Whale back, that's terrific, and stupid unless they are actively cheering for Hurricanes, Stars, Ducks, Swamp kitties, etc. to do well. Without them HTD can't survive or thrive, heck Quebec probably can't survive or thrive without them.
