I'm being sarcastic, but then the same logic should apply when it comes to carrying the Ford name and legacy. This guy had the mindset of a KKK member back in the 20s.
and Thomas Jefferson owned slaves, so now should the University of Virginia or Monticello be taken down? Or removing Jefferson from the $2 bill and the nickel ?
I think everybody that ever lived on Earth has had some issues with racism and prejudice opinions at one time or another... its just the nature of humans being human beings. I can think of only one man who wasn't prejudice and I think we all know who that was.
it's not him. it's these big baby liberals who bitch and complain about every little thing on this planet. they will pick at anything to get a rise out of people. this happened in the 1930's! almost 90 years ago. this should not be an issue anymore as she's dead now.
first of all - that's wrong. im a huge Ty Cobb fan and whatever Al Stump wrote was a blatant lie about Cobb. The whole Cobb movie is a lie as well as the Stump book on Cobb. Cobb was very ill and Stump used that to his advantage and forged Cobb's name on checks to himself. he stole a lot of Cobb memorabilia and sold it and pocketed the money and other terrible things to Cobb and his legacy. A reporter doing a little bit of research was able to debunk most of the myths of Cobb that were bad. Most of what people think they know about Cobb is untrue !
I don't know, wouldn't there be witnesses to say that he went into the stands to beat him up? Look at Milbury with the shoe.
We just have to realize the world was a different place back then. The world was different in the 70s, could you imagine back then.
the whole thing stinks. flyers and yankees should've stated what Smith sang about was 90 years ago and doesn't reflect the Flyers of today! Problem solved.
We just have to realize the world was a different place back then. The world was different in the 70s, could you imagine back then. Skinny will know this guy........lol First Prime Minister of Canada......Sir John A MacDonald.....his Statue was removed from in Front of City Hall in Victoria B.C. because of his Indigenous Hate towards Native People in the 1800's.......he built a Country and was a great leader.
Sir John A was also a big boozer, back then they referred to natives as "savages", that was the world back then. In the 60s, grade school principals used to give students the strap (legal back then). If a student got out of hand in the 70s a teacher would be able to rough you up with no repercussions. Think about how different the world was just 40-50 years ago. Let's not even mention what went on inside homes compared to today.
people today are soft. they don't mind rappers rapping about killing each other and using the N word. Nah. lets worry about an old dead lady's song from 80+ years ago.
Flyers GM says they will be aggressive in offseason to improve roster Fletcher discusses restricted free agents, position in 2019 Draft The Philadelphia Flyers are planning to have a very busy offseason. "I think we're going to be very aggressive in the trade and free agent markets in the sense of looking into every possible situation that can help us," said general manager Chuck Fletcher, who was hired Dec. 3 to replace Ron Hextall. "The unfortunate part is the vast majority of things you look into don't work out. ... So we're going to be very aggressive in trying to fill the holes we feel we have. I don't know if I can say we'll be able to fill all of them." In a wide-ranging interview with NHL.com at the NHL Scouting Combine, Fletcher discussed where he thinks the roster needs to be upgraded, the status of negotiations with four key restricted free agents, his plans for the 2019 NHL Draft, and the potential of goalie Carter Hart. Where are the holes on your roster? "We need help everywhere. We need help on defense, at center and on the wing. And obviously, we need another goaltender, at least, if not two. We have a lot of needs. We'll be able to plug some of those holes, whether we're plugging them with players on six-year deals or players on one-year deals as placeholders to buy more time to find the right fit. We'll certainly have our roster upgraded next year, and hopefully we can find three or four players at 26 years old that we can plug in there for the next 6-7 years. I don't know if that's likely. "We may have to have some Plan B options. We are aggressively looking in the trade market now. At the right time, we'll certainly speak to every agent for a lot of free agents and see if there's a fit, see if there's players that want to come to Philly and if there's the right fit for our club. The good thing is we've got the assets and the [NHL salary] cap space, and sometime in the near future, we'll make some good things happen, and hopefully sooner rather than later." You mentioned Plan B options, does that include some of the top young prospects, among them forwards Isaac Ratcliffe, Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee? "Or older guys. You can find some guys in their 30s on one- and two-year [contracts] that are still good players that can help your team until either the young guys are ready or until you can maybe go out and get the great 25-year-old players that you can sign to a seven- or eight-year deal. Sometimes you swing for the fences, and sometimes you have to hit some singles too. "[The young players] certainly could be [roster options]. I think the odds would be against them making our team coming out of camp. But I don't like cutting players before training camp. I say that because I think our expectation is we'll find a player or two to come in. For 20-year-old kids, in Farabee's case 19, to get some playing time in the [American Hockey League] is always a preferable option. But if they come in and they earn it, and there's been players every year that seem to do it around the League, then certainly we won't hold them back." https://www.nhl.com/news/philadelph...ve-in-offseason-to-improve-roster/c-307628452
^^ the blew a lot of money and none of it was on Panarin. haha. The fanbase has little to no clue who Kevin Hayes is and why on earth did the Flyers give him $50 mil over 7 years. The fans wanted the little kid at the draft, he fell to them at 11, they passed and could've had him again and took Cam York at 5'9? Hmm. They bridged a few players and resigned Elliott. The $34.5 mil they had this summer is quickly gone and they still need to resign or bridge Konecny and Prov. I think they have $17 mil left to for TK and Prov. Prospects Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost will be invited to camp for a shot at making the team. The coach doesn't play young kids, so I don't suspect either making the team sadly. This was not the summer i envisioned June 1, but hopefully these new players will work out and the team gets better?
Oh and Paul Holmgren was stripped of his duties as President and is now an advisor to the team. He should be head of the parking lot crew. Adios. Ten long years of ruin.
