Dan you are just hell bent on Myers getting moved arent you. He wont fit well on the Flyers but he would on the WIngs - just not for Jurco. Biggest obstacle there is the fact that hes over 5'9 and the Wings dont do big. Myers also has a fighting major already this year and thats a HUGE no no here
Actually, just reporting what I hear and trying to get some thoughts going. I do not want the Sabres to trade Myers, but I recognize that he's one our best trade assets. The team has too many d-men and they'd get a lot more for him than Ristoleinan, Pysyk, Zadorov, or McCabe. There's a lot of chatter about Myers because of his size, his age - 24, the fact that he's got experience, and he's under long-term contract. If the Sabres decide to move him it will be to make room in the system, and to get better. They'd get a high price for him.
That must be some real fan there, I wonder if he already happen to be there or he set out from Philly, that's hardcore.
yeah - someone else posted his gravesite too. sad. i do recall it was a sunday i believe. we were shocked after sunday mass and lunch.
I liked Pelle a lot, he was nails. He almost seemed to be a generation ahead with his skills, very sound technically
the flyers dont retire many jerseys and there was an outcry when snider didn't retire pelle's #31. however no flyer has ever worn it since! someone asked for it years ago - i think dominic roussel and they told him "no." after pelle got torched for 4 or 5 goals in the 1984 all-star game with gretzky i think scoring all of them and the flyers lost the cup finals 4-1 to the oilers he came into his own and won the vezina. his future and career looked bright until he died. and think if he didn't die cutter's nemesis hextall is an afterthought bc pelle would've played in 1987 not hextall.
Haunting at the 3:04 mark of that tribute to Pelle, you see McCrimmon next to him, who would've thought they would suffer almost the same fate.
brad mcrimmon was a very underrated defensemen in philly. very sad that he and an entire team died in a plane crash! the flyers wore #10 on their shoulders in the winter classic game for the alumni vs the rangers. mark howe was the force behind the #10 on their jerseys - not snider.
skinny, cutter, and cat, the hockey team from Philadelphia has been on my shit list (*) since 1975. But, anyone who ever saw Lindbergh had to respect him, if not become a fan of that player. Thanks for bringing him to MnC. (*) Before anyone gets upset, this is actually a back-handed compliment; at least I care enough about them to form an opinion. I cannot say the same about the Penguins and a few other teams. Fans of the hockey team from Philadelphia, you may take heart, there is another team that is even lower than whale shit, the hockey team from Boston. Or put another way, there's a Sabres' fan that despises your teams - are you supposed to be upset over that?
I dont move Couturier, the Schenns - later days. Luke the scouts said when he was drafted was the next Adam Foote - are you serious? he was like the 6th pick, who the hell drafts a stiff that high. Adam Foote sucked ball sac......at this point the scouts should ask who sucked worse
cutter-now im mad at you. you missed my Star Wars joke and now you dont trade red's boy couts. :-/ TRADE AND MOVE THEM ALL! What value does Couts have? 0 What do the Schenn's do besides take up my Oxygen? Dump them all! And if Brian Kelly had any balls he would decline a bowl game for his team and his play calling in the last 6 weeks!
lulz-bob davie did it in 1998 or 1999 so it's been done before. and due to the bowl realignment ND does NOT get as much bowl money as they did before. it's all changed now. the pot goes back to the conferences and not in ND's hands.
