The Packers really suck. So strange story regarding the Bears. My son was wearing a Missouri State Bears t-shirt (a hand-me-down from my neighbors, we have no allegiance to them as a school). The shirt wasn't obvious that it was Missouri State. It had Bears in maroon, but the shirt was grey and the Missouri St logo for Bears is different than the Chi Bears, but if you just glance at it, it just says Bears. Anyway, we were outside of StL on our trip up to my parent's house at McDs and the gal taking our order mentioned something about even though he was a Bears fan. So the question is - did she make the comment because she thought it was a Chi Bears shirt? Or was she an SIU fan and made the comment based on an actual rivalry? I didn't ask because it was McDs. Speaking of our trip to Illinois. We got my Grandma through her 90th birthday party. If you read the Cubs board, she is sick of Theo and wants him fired. Too funny listening to her call him a clown. We also had a surprise party for my sister's 40th birthday. It was a great trip. The weather was incredible. Hubby and I had a date and went mini-golfing and I had a bird poop on my head! We also went up with 2 kids and came home with 1. My son is spending the week at my parents - learning all about the Packers sucking.
Wow congrats to your grandma! There's a milestone! It's Murphy's Law Mary ... you're out on a date (which I know you don't get that often) and a bird has to target your head. If something bad can happen it will because of Murphy. Damn him anyway Enjoy your time with one less kid ... it'll probably show you how much you need that other kid to keep the one you have busy and entertained.
Hahahahaha, I got a kick out of saying that to myself at work, just now. Good to see you around, 3rdGen
babyfan - Yep our last date had been 4 months before - the last time we made the trip up to see my parents. We are enjoying the little bit of a breather with just one kiddo. Our little girl is quite the trouble maker though. She learned how to climb up on the stools in the kitchen last week. So she still keeps us on our toes. But she still naps and is contained to her crib (for now). Next week is going to be rough - getting the boy out of Grandparent mode and getting the girl out of single child mode. Glad that is hubby's job.
Yep. "Terrible Twos" we are here. She's 18 months and a stubborn little sh!t. (I mean that in a positive way - I just tell myself no one is going to walk all over her when she is an adult). Hopefully, she'll get over the first round pretty quick. But she is so funny, I don't mind it most of the time. With my son, I disliked 3 year old "i can't do it" whininess more than the "terrible twos". We'll see how it goes. Every stage is a challenge and the two of them are so different. I'd rather deal with a tantrum than a newborn that refuses to sleep. On an athletic note - she walks around on her tippee toes and has these calf muscles that would make Shea McClellin jealous. 18 month old kids are suppose to be just outgrowing their baby fat, not developing muscles!
I'd say that you're going to be very proud parents one of these days ... and both of my babies were lean and muscled when they were really young because they never stopped moving! Enjoy all of it Mary ... it's some of the best times when they're that little
