Baby - I hope you get to go. That would be awesome. I'll live vicariously through you. My plan is to go in about 18 years when the kids are all grown up. I'm so glad we are done having kids. I feel like we've put our life on hold for the last 4 years and now we are ready to get out and live a little again.
It really would be Mary. What an amazing treat it would be to watch the Bears win against the Packers AGAIN on Soldier Field in front of their devoted and fanatic fans. Can you imagine? Mongo is amazingly generous. He still has the tickets even though I don't know if I'll be able to do the trip. The worst part about having little kids is all your time is spent managing them, cleaning up after them, cooking for them, cuddling them (best part), teaching them, driving them everywhere when you're so tired you just want to lie down, loving them, disciplining them, seeing the world through their eyes, letting them go when you have to and then ... all of a sudden ... they're gone. Time seems to stand still at different times when our kids are younger. You feel like you're locked in a certain time frame and you rebel and you want to have some ... any ... time for yourself. And then you turn around and BAM! time has jumped a few years and everything is different. The hardest time to enjoy them is when you're over-tired. People probably tell you all the time ... enjoy it while you can, they won't stay small for long. It's such a boring statement but it's so true. It's especially true if you work full-time while they're small. That's a lot for one person to handle. But it's all worth it. When your kids achieve something that completely blows you away or when they come home to you heart broken over a failed relationship ... your kids are always your kids. Jesus. This is veering pretty close to the side of being maudlin. <slaps herself hard> Maybe if I am cancer free by then we should plan on taking this game in together Mary ... what do you think? Mongo can be our host for the evening (which probably means we get to put him to bed after he's had way too much to drink) and we can enjoy the experience of the Chicago Bears beating the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field.
