According to beloved Tomlin: “A couple of bumps and bruises along the way, [Ryan] Shazier went down with an ankle and I think he was able to go back in and finish. [Alejandro] Villanueva the same thing with an ankle,” Tomlin said. “We’ll access all those things and get ready for Cincy.”
Man, the defensive breakdowns were disheartening but Ben has done what we've been hoping he would do. He tore apart that D. One of the picks was tipped so I really don't care too much about it. He was on and so was Bell and AB. You know, I watch Hundley and read about him in the local paper every day. It's been a juggling act for McCarthy to figure out how much rope to give him. The Viking's game was a wash but, consider the next ones. Too much of a leash vs the Saints and it showed, though they played well. He did OK vs the Lions but the D blew. He was good against the Bears and I think MM opened up the playbook too much in the Ravens game and Hundley was confused, plus the Ravens D is good. Tonight's game was a great plan for Hundley. Conservative and lots of different formations. McCarthy is smart and can develop a QB. He was due 9-2 is 9-2. On to Cincy.
All good points about our Steelers, Dirk. I stand corrected. That’s crazy, I forgot Cliff Stoudt ever had a year with a good record. Wow.
I am trying hard to be positive about this year. It has been great so far. The Steelers flaws are obvious but I don't see a truly great team in the league. Why not them? Here's to hoping.
