Yeah, but production isn't really at full tilt. They won't take on anything real heavy knowing the holidays are near.

A lot of people are liking the Winnipeg Jets, but I think several teams look strong and could win the Central Division. Thoughts on how the Central will shake out and key things to watch for that could make or break any teams like the St. Louis Blues' goaltending, the Minnesota Wild's health, the Colorado Avalanche's young players? -- @DenverWildFan

Here is how I think the Central Division standings will look at the end of the season:

    1. Winnipeg Jets
    2. Nashville Predators
    3. St. Louis Blues
    4. Dallas Stars
    5. Colorado Avalanche
    6. Minnesota Wild
    7. Chicago Blackhawks

The Jets are loaded for a run at the Stanley Cup. The biggest question is at No. 2 center. Bryan Little will start the season there, but Jack Roslovic could eventually take that spot. Roslovic is expected to be the permanent No. 2 behind Mark Scheifele. If he does, or if Little plays well enough to keep the spot, problem solved.

The Predators are also loaded for a run at the Stanley Cup with similar attributes to the Jets, including depth scoring, one of the best defenseman groups in the League, elite goaltending (Pekka Rinne won the Vezina Trophy last season with 42 wins, a 2.31 goals-against average and .927 save percentage), experience behind the bench and motivation to win while t
he window of opportunity with the current core remains open.

Jets and Preds are among the tops in the Conference too! Either could take the Cup this year ! Toss in Vegas, Tampa, Boston, Pitt and Washington and you have a solid 7-8 teams who are serious Cup contenders.

  6. Toss in Vegas,

???........they are 1-3 Cat and off too a terrible start after their run last year.

Watch out for the Av's.......good young team.

come on VV. After what they did last year, i can't count them out. 1-3 means little in a 82 game season. the flyers lost 10 straight last year and still made the playoffs. Avs are dangerous as well. They kicked the Flyers asses a lot it seems like.

Yes I agree.........I have not counted them out yet......BUT .....an expansion team doing what they did last year will be very tough to repeat.

yeah well they made some nice FA moves to stay near the top.

  10. Cat........they also have several Draft Pick's (High) through 2021......Brilliant move by GM George McAfee.

We will see what happens as the year progresses.

Vegas has to adjust to Patch instead of Neal.

Looks like Markstrom is picking it up, Elias looks like the steal of the draft, just what the doctor ordered (4) goals.

How about those pesky Sens, 5-1 over the kings.
