I am more intrigued by Garoppolo right now if we miss on Bridgewater or Manziel.

Though not a HUGE fan of Bortles, I prefer Bridgewater or Manziel....

That would be a pretty awesome draft..only one problem...

Ka'Deem Carey AND Carlos Hyde will be gone by the end of the 2nd round...Justin Gilbert, most likely, doesn't make it out of the 1st...and Chris Borland is moving up draft boards, but may still be available at #71.

Other than availability on where you have slated them, I love it.

P.S. I still hope for reconciliation with Mack at C and would prefer a TRUE FB at some point in the draft...give me a couple hours and I will counter with my latest and greatest to compare to yours. I am working right now, not sure when I will get it done.

If you're not too Keen on go #1 how about this one *YES*

    4 QB TEDDY BRIDGEWATER LOUISVILLE
26 WR KELVIN BENJAMIN FLORIDA STATE
    35 G XAVIER SU?A-FILO UCLA
71 CB KYLE FULLER VIRGINIA TECH
    83 ILB YAWIN SMALLWOOD UCONN
102 RB CARLOS HYDE OHIO STATE
    123 RB JAMES WHITE WISCONSIN
    133 WR JOSH HUFF OREGON
164 CB VICTOR HAMPTON SOUTH CAROLINA
195 OT CORNELIUS LUCAS KANSAS STATE

Move Hampton to safety and build a three headed monster at RB w/ Lewis, Hyde, and White

During that mock Bridgewater was off the board and I'm still not sold on Manziel being able to carry and offense in Nov, DEC, and Jan in the AFCN. Though Bortles is a bit more Raw I like his size and frame. I think that with a season or two he can develop into a good QB.

I too doubt that Hyde will be there in the 3rd or 4th, but would love it if he fell to us then.

I also doubt that Su'A-Filio will fall to the 3rd either.

It's all for fun and we'll know how it really shakes out in May.

  6. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

    1 QB Teddy Bridgewater Louisville
2 OT Jake Matthews Texas A&M
3 DE Jadeveon Clowney South Carolina
4 QB Johnny Manziel Texas A&M
26 WR KELVIN BENJAMIN FLORIDA STATE
    35 RB Ka'Deem Carey Arizona
71 RT James Hurst North Carolina (would have been a 1st rounder if not for broken leg in bowl)
    83 ILB YAWIN SMALLWOOD UCONN
    102 G Anthony Steen Alabama
    123 CB Jaylen Watkins Florida
    133 WR JOSH HUFF OREGON
164 CB VICTOR HAMPTON SOUTH CAROLINA
195 OT CORNELIUS LUCAS KANSAS STATE

These are the changes I would make to my version...

Not bad Irish, I could live w/ a draft like that.

Though like I said I'm not sold on Manziel @#4.

  8. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

    Harumpf!

Like I've never been wrong before . . . but, Blake Bortles will be a far superior pro QB that either Bridgewater or Manziel.

I am curious what you base this on Lym...

If Bridgewater is the clear #1 QB in this draft (in my opinion he is), if being a very big word than no one (yet again) is in a better position to go get him than the Browns. If April rolls around and he's the clear cut #1 are you willing to give the Texans #4 and #26 for him?

  11. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

    I admit . . . I've only watched him play in his bowl game, but;

    o He has the size.
o His mechanics, while not perfect, are coachable.
o He showed almost PERFECT decision making in his bowl game.
o His accuracy, again while not perfect, was not too shabby.
o Most of all . . . just a gut feeling. I've seen a few good ones over the years and this guy has "it".

Okay, okay, okay . . . I get it. The competition he faced was not all that great (but neither was Ben's or Flacco's). I get it he's not the sexy pick like Manzeil or Bridgewater. But he will be a better QB for far longer than those two (especially Manzeil).

  12. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

Absolutely, I don't have to wait until April!!

I've watched enough film to know he is CLEARLY the #1 QB and the best choice in this draft.

The thing about Bridgewater AND Manziel, they both made calls at the line and went through progressions correctly after reading the defense. To my knowledge, no other QB in this draft did that in college...

Bortles has never been asked to do it to this point in his career. Can he? If not, he is a younger version of Brandon Weeden...Not saying he can't, but the other two have done it already...

I keep asking why, on Manziel, no one has really given me a difinitive answer except for maturity issues. These issues have NEVER interfered with football, yet it is the most common response. He isn't like RGIII who runs into danger constantly, if that is your concern. He only runs after his progression is exhausted and always runs for the sidelines. Although, my one concern is when he gets turned up field, he dives instead of slide...while it gets extra yards, this is where he could feel the pain of the NFL if he doesn't learn early.

For the record, these two have almost everything else you listed:

    Bridgewater;
    o He has the size.
o His mechanics, [del]while not perfect, are coachable.[/del] are impeccable
o He showed almost PERFECT decision making [del]in his bowl game.[/del] in his career
o His accuracy, was near [del]again while not[/del] perfect, [del]was not too shabby.[/del]
o Most of all . . . just a gut feeling. I've seen a few good ones over the years and this guy has "it".

    Manziel;
    [del]o He has the size.[/del]
o His mechanics, while not perfect, are coachable.
o He showed almost PERFECT decision making [del]in his bowl game.[/del] over his career
o His accuracy, [del]again while not perfect, was not too shabby.[/del] is even good on the run.
o Most of all . . . just a gut feeling. I've seen a few good ones over the years and this guy has "it".

    Irish,

I get it. You like Manzeil and Bridgewater. I could learn to like Bridgewater but Manzeil . . .?

Some people like Brussels Sprouts. Some don't. (I refuse to eat the damn things).

  15. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

That's just it, I don't think you do "get it". You have been conditioned that he is a punk, therefore will never succeed in the NFL. If you watch his games and take the off field crap out of the equation, you would LOVE this kid. I have yoyo'd on him because of his off field attitude, but what I want more than any thing else in my life other than health and happiness for my family members, is for the Browns to become winners. If this kid goes on camera every week and makes an ass of himself proclaiming his glory AND PROVES IT ON THE FIELD. I can live with that...

As for Bridgewater, I don't know what isn't to like. The national media need more to write about, so they keep moving him up and down their boards, but when May rolls around and the week of the draft is here, every writer in America will be writing/talking about his career/combine/pro days as the reason he has "risen" to the undisputed #1 position. Reality is, he never left it....

  16. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

    Irish,

I guess we will simply have to agree to disagree.

If Manzeil becomes the future QB of the Browns, I'll back him 100% . . . until the punk surfaces. And it will. This guy is Justin Bieber in cleats. That is not to say he can't play the game. He most likely can. But so could Ryan Leaf, Todd Marinovich and Jamarcus Russell. Different decade - different punk.

By the way, do you like Brussell Sprouts?

  17. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

    why yes, yes I do....

As well as artichoke hearts and my personal favorite asparagus.

we are in no position to take chances on Johnny Fluke

JOHNNY Fluke = Colt McCoy - THE attitude

Just say no to the Fluke ..BTW I like the Beiber comparison :D

  20. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

You have obviously watched VERY little of this kid play football...I think we are exactly in the position to take him. If his attitude runs free, he ass will be on the bench behind Brian Hoyer and his ego will quickly be put in check...I don't know if there is another team in as good a position as we are to take him and give him a chance to succeed.

We are in no position to take a high draft pick chance on Bortles imho...

Blake Bortles = Brandon Weeden - 8 years
