They’re in the same spot even with Bell maybe worse since he would have been rusty and taken Connor out of last weeks output, don’t kid urself
I'm saying if Bell had been there from the start of the season......we are running out of money to throw at star players to make up for Tomlin's inability to build a team.
Either way young buckaroo, Bell doesn’t make a difference. This Debacle is all about the defense, coaching, and Ben being Inept
You got the order wrong: 1) coaching - mike dumblin 2) defense - keith dumbler 3) quarterback - big dumb
After Le'Veon gets paid does he go all out? Or with finances secure, does he look to limit the wear and tear on his body (i.e. the number of touches)? Bell will want to enjoy his money after football without creaky knees, chronic aches and pains, etc.
Bell is not showing up until around game 11 .... he is listening to his buddy MJD who told him not to show up until then (if he had to do it all over he would have done same thing due to an injury that happened). Bell is taking this to heart. They have the same agent. Even more than the guaranteed money which MJD recently said was actually around $20MM, it is what MJD has told Bell to do to avoid injury. Still cracks me up when they quote incorrect numbers about how much of Gurley's contract was guaranteed - which btw, MJD said was a huge part of why Bell ultimately decided to take MJD's advise because he felt disrespected. Like he's going to show up and play in a way that could cause injury? I think he'll be trying to avoid injury like crazy once back and I don't think he'll be taking any chances by playing too hard. Some say not playing hard is surest way to get injured though. I guess we may find out.

They don’t want Bell anymore, we can’t take less than a second. We will get a third If he walks in FA.
I agree not taking less than a 3rd. Problem is his trade value is minimal. There's no guarantee he'll resign with anybody, and no team can extend him until he first becomes a free agent in March, which is all he cares about. Unless they ask him EXACTLY what he wants before trading him and they agree to that number, its pointless. Its all irrelevant if he continues not to report anyway. He can't be traded until he reports and signs. And each week that goes by without him reporting, his trade value decreases. Green Bay has two #1s, as do the Raiders, and Houston has two #2s. Both good fits and a team we wouldn't play for a few years. All three have cap space throw money at him too.
Bell has made it clear a trade has to be sought at this point. He is liking on social media things that beat us.
I like the data in this post. I am more optimistic they will get a deal done for a second rounder or better. They’ll work it all out and get something done.
The only way a team gives up a 2nd is if part of the trade language includes him signing a contract. No team is going to give up a 2nd, for a RB with mileage, pay him whatever the franchise tag number is, just to watch him walk away the next season...........except maybe the Raiders. Gruden doesn't know what the hell he's doing anyway
Two problems with this . . . 1. The Steelers can't trade a player who they don't have under contract and, until he signs his franchise tag - he's not under contract. 2. Existing tampering rules prohibit teams and player agents from even discussing contract terms unless the player is a free agent. So its a "chicken or the egg" scenario. Bell will not sign his tag in order to be traded because he wouldn't have a firm grasp on what the new contract will contain.
For the first point, I was speaking under the assumption they get Bell under contract. The second point, I completely didn't think about. You're right, Bell can't talk to any other team unless the Steelers somehow allow it, but he'd have to be under contract anyway. So yeah, it's doubtful Pittsburgh sees a second rounder from anyone.
After what LeVeon has done to the Steelers' organization these past two years, I emphactically doubt they will do anything to help LeVeon secure a new contract anywhere else. Why would they? If LeVeon's goal is to become a free agent, he's going to need 2018 to count as an accrued year, correct? That means he will have to sign his tag before a set date (week 10?) and even then, teams won't be able to legally discuss potential contracts with him or his agent.
Plus by week 10 the trade deadline will be long gone. Actually, I wonder if Bell will just wait until week 8 to sign so he doesn't miss out on the extra two weeks of pay. If Pittsburgh benches him, he can preserve his body like he wants. If they play him, he has a chance to show out for free agency. It's really a win win for Bell
- Even if Bell is a Steeler by Week 10, will he play hard? Because I would run the crap out of him. - If he doesn't, are others teams supposed to believe he will for them?
I actually think that something will get done. We talk about obstacles but if two teams want to make it work then every lawyer and agent will find the loophole. Bell may agree to sign only if he is guaranteed a trade. Does that happen? I think it will. Heck, the Steelers would be better off if they got a decent LB for him.
2 yards per rush ain’t gonna cut it Ring my Belllllllll ring my Bell Pay dat man .... you pay dat man..... Or not I’m torn but we can’t run well without dat Bell
