Too early in the morning!! Game 1 starter, Game 2 Not starter, Game 3 starter, Game 4 Not starter, game 5 starter, game 6 Not starter, then in week 7 he took over as a permanent starter...
Just wanted to pass along something's I heard on draft podcasts regarding Cordelle Patterson. Espn acknowledged his physical abilities but said he can't run good routes or read coverages well. And the NFL podcast said he was flunking the interviews and needed a lot of maturing. I can't see where he gets us that far ahead of Gordon or little in the quest for a #1wr. Tavon Austin seems to be climbing the board and is even being discussed as high as 8 to the bills. Just what I have heard take it for what it is. I still think going D is the better route myself.
Then I say let the Bills have him.... No way I see the Browns take him, Turners offense has never been built around a 5'8'' WR, he likes big bodied guys, Malcolm Floyd, Vincent Jackson, Tavon Austin won't cut it in a Turners Vertical Offense IMHO... After I watched some tape on him, that was the first thing I noticed (now I'm no pro scout by any means, but if I noticed it, I'm assuming they have) I'm not saying to "neglect" the position totally because of Gordon and Little, but I'm saying we shouldn't draft a WR at #6 (or second of third round) because we need secondary in the WORST WAY!!! After Haden and Ward.... Who are we gonna have back there?
To be fair, Irish, those start stats you're using just explain who was on the field for the first snap of the game. Mohamed Massaquoi and Greg Little were the starters and the two to see the most snaps until Game 4 (after Massaquoi's injury) when Little and Cribbs took the most snaps. Josh Gordon became a permanent starter, as you say, in Week 7. He wasn't "in-and-out of the lineup", he was working in a rotation.
Are you trying to dispute the "FACTS" that are stats?!? I thought your M.O. is all about stats being facts, and the FACTS are he started 13 games as a Rookie.... I didn't think there were any "Grey Areas" in Stats... Black and white, right SAS?
Josh Gordon - 6'3'', 225 Greg Little - 6'2'', 220 The Browns already have the Big Bodied WR's that Turner needs...

Not at all. Irish's point still has a ton of validity. Josh Gordon was rotating through the lineup for five or six games until he became a full-time starter. But by blaming the coach and suggesting that Pat Shurmur had him starting one week then benched the next was wrong. Stats are black and white. At the end of the year, Josh Gordon started 13 games. He saw action in all 16. No one's arguing that. It's the suggestion that he was in, yanked, in, yanked, in and then yanked again that is a mis-guided thought.
Lovely. Please, continue to compare Josh Gordon, Greg Little and injured David Nelso to Vincent Jackson and Malcolm Floyd. BTW... is Jordan Cameron the Antonio Gates in this (terrible) example?

Oh... and just because you people have an inexplicably hard time grasping them, you'd better get used to them. Joe Banner has hired a team of analysts and statisticians and will run a ton of the new Browns business on analytics.
Sigh... Did I ever say that Josh Gordon, Greg Little, David Nelson is equal to Vincent Jackson or Malcolm Flyod... Or did I simply state that Gordon and Little are the big bodied type of WR's that Turner likes? Lemme See Antonio Gate (6'4'' 255), Jordan Cameron (6'5'' 245)... hmmmm, similar build... yep I'd have to say he is (NOTICE: I'm still only comparing their physical traits!!!)
I hope Cameron turns into Gates . when they drafted Gordon he couldnt even run a route . he made great strides as the season progressed .i have high hopes for both Gordon & Little . Little had the case of the drops and once again he got better the second half of the season . you add Nelson to go along with Benji who can flat out fly & i havent given up on Cooper yet . we are okay at WR . they will only get better . all are very young . I am not worried about the Browns offense .the defense is another story . call me worried about it . I wonder if we could bring back Matt Roth ? he set the edge on running downs very well . no he cant cover but is a true run stuffer at LB the Browns need . nothing gets under my skin more than seeing them get punched in the mouth on the ground . its a mind set to knock the guy on his ass in front of you . stop the run win the game most of the time .
Ahh... sorry, I misunderstood. You bring up a good point, though. Aaron Rodgers (6'2" 220 pounds) and me (6'2" 205 pounds)... hmm... similar build, we might have our answer at QB after all! (NOTICE: I'm using exaggeration to show how silly your premise was/it.)
You and me both, bluez. The good news is that defenses typically turn around faster than offense. Even with the talent we have on the roster, Ray Horton should be able to get a similar level of production out of them -- which certainly out-paced our offense. He's still with Jacksonville, right? Although he may be a free agent. I haven't heard his name in a while. The problem with Roth is that he was absolutely atrocious at getting after the QB and it sounds like that's what Ray Horton wants to do the most of. I expect some big, fast, nimble athletes to be drafted and fill those OLB rush spots.
I don't have a diffucult time at all understanding sadistics (statistics), in fact I use sadistic analysis in my daily work. I also understand that the data used to develop the analysis can be, and is often manipulated to best demonstrate to the side of the argument you are on. :/ I can prove anything by statistics except the truth. Horribly bad example, atleast everyone used in my example is a PRO athelete!!! So are you saying that there is no way possible (not probability) but POSSIBILITY that Cameron can be a Gates type TE, or Gordon can't be a V Jax or Malcolm Floyd type WR?
