I'm not mad, Cat. Again - I'm asking for consistency. Are you willing to cast that same eye on YOUR QB as you are on mine? I notice you ignored my question. No worries - let's just skip it.
I'm just going off of memory so don't hold my head under water if I'm wrong but, if I'm remembering correctly, Cat was pretty hard on Wentz even when he played well.
all i said was he doesn't look the same without zeke or some other key cowboys. does his play or their record state otherwise ? that's not being hard at all Axe. it's being realistic ! being "hard" on Dak would be "yeah he really sucks at a QB and looks like a stiff." that's being hard on him.
In Dak Prescott‘s last three games he has thrown zero touchdown passes and five interceptions, he has failed to pass for 200 yards, the Cowboys have failed to score 10 points, and the team is 0-3. Prescott can hardly believe it. “It’s frustrating, it’s shocking,” Prescott said. “You look around and you see the Pro Bowlers and the talent that you have, it’s almost lost at words for why it’s happening. But it just shows you this game’s tough.” Prescott doesn’t want to blame anyone in particular for the Cowboys’ struggles, although he did say that criticisms of the coaching staff are off base. “Look into it deeper,” Prescott said. “You must not know much if you just point fingers at the coaching staff or point fingers at anybody, really. Then you don’t know enough. Just look into it more.” Ezekiel Elliott‘s suspension and Tryon Smith’s injury are two obvious reasons for the Cowboys’ struggles, but whatever other issues they have, they’re running out of time to get them fixed. (PFT) ______________ ______________________ My 2 cents... Is Dak a bad QB? No. He cant be simply based on his track record. Dak is just down right now and so is the entire Dallas team, not 1 player should be singled out. I think with Zeke in the lineup it balanced the offense in a way that it kept the defenses honest and gave them more to have to plan for... things got a whole lot easier for defenses once Zeke was ruled out. A sub-par run game and shoty defensive play have really hurt the Cowboys. Dak is being forced to do more than what really should have been expected. When Zeke is back and the team is healthy there's no doubt in my mind the Cowboys will be just fine. I just disagree with the statement that Dak is a bad QB... in a nutshell its a team thing. Management seems to be losing a grip on things too, from Jones on down. A lot of success on a team is from attitude to, in my opinion a team must not only be talented, but they should believe in themselves and be on the same page.
I'm the one that suggested that Dallas might want to draft a QB next year. Good QBs overcome missing a player like Zeke, not regress into one of the lowest rated QBS in the league.
I think that's true to a point, Gid, but how do you explain the difference in the team when Zeke is in the lineup?
Zeke is a very good RB. If he was playing right now the Cowboys would be challenging the Eagles in the NFCE. I don't think they would beat out the Eagles , but make it interesting. Dak is either suffering a sophomore slump or he needs Zeke to play worth a crap. If I was the coach I would seriously consider drafting another QB in the first Rd next year.
Gidion, that's my mistake. I meant to put it in the news thread, and when I realized this wasn't it, I deleted it and put it over there
yeah but zeke did play a lot of the games this year and they lost them. challenge the eagles who are 10-1? zeke missed the last 2-3 games for his suspension. he played the other games and the team lost. i don't think they showed in the first 2 months of the season with zeke, they were the same team as last year and could hold the same record as the eagles, who were pulling away from the other East teams pretty early.
what is the record with zeke in the lineup this year vs when he sat out for a suspension ? didn't they lose games with zeke in the lineup?
I don't think they would have won the NFCE, just held back the clinching of it by the Eagles until the 15th week of the season. I believe the Eagles have already sealed up the NFCE. Or will next week.
Outside of the Politics forum, this is some of the silliest stuff I ever read. By that logic, the Steelers should have been looking for a QB in the first round after the 2006 season.
The sample comparisons aren't similar, especially considering Big Ben had just recently won a SB. If Dak had won the Super Bowl last year, would Gid have the same opinion? Also, I think what Dak Prescott accomplished last season, he has already proven that he is a legitimate starting NFL QB.
Oh, I think there are some definite similarities. Two QBs who had a certain level of success very early, then decided struggles. Hell, Roethlisberger's drop was even more severe: 4-7 record through 11 games, 14 TDs, 20 INTs. This after a Super Bowl win.
