Did you watch the rest of the game Will? Fascinating ending. 9ers drive up the field and the K misses a relatively easy game winner! The really interesting part tho was Shanahan throwing the towel in on his own offense. Don't wanna sound like im letting the K off the hook, cos he lost them the game, but the 9ers last offensive play(not counting the spike) ended with about 40secs on the clock, it was like 2nd & 6 and they still had a TO. There were multiple plays still on the table for Shanahan there if he wanted them, and yes a 41yarder should be made but the HC could've and should've made it easier. But he got scared something bad would happen so he left plays/yards on the table. Guess what, something bad happened... Not to take anything away from the Browns, i actually think its great they won. The D was tremendous and just dominated a good 9ers O-Line. Its also hilarious to me that PJ Walker made that many plays after he was horrible for the Bears in PS and rightly got cut. But for all the league lauds Shanahan, rightly so i guess, he did lose his balls a little bit at the end. I've got that loss on him 2nd after the Kicker.
I agree you have to run another play there at least 1. Sure 41 is makable but under 40 is even better. Im sure the fact CMC was out makes a big difference maybe even if Deebo was on the field he tries something. To memof you 100% trust purdy you pass there with everyone thinking run. You make it a quick high percentage throw to Aiyuk or Kittle the kind is my guy or no one. To help your rookie kicker out. I think like Everton saod he didnt trust his offense there he lived in his fears.
I didnt see it and I wished I had. Your description sounds unimaginable. Ive heard things about Shanahan, but thats really wild. Thanks... I'll have to see some highlights now. Congrats, Browns fans.
The worst part about the Browns winning the game is that they called a horrible personnel foul penalty against the 49ers that was a perfect tackle according to the NFzL rules. They need to be able to get that crap correct, it’s ridiculous when a bad call changes the outcome of a game.
Browns dominated the game, the defense made Purdy look terrible at times, well, many times. 49ers admittedly made a ton of mistakes, especially on offense. Browns put up 330 yards of offense (160 on the ground) also. The Browns secret weapon today was Schwartz... he's 8-1 vs Shanahan. Bad calls are the norm these days... every game every week, gotta live with it and roll with it.
Why is New York involved if they won’t eject #73 after he stomped on a Giant’s player. Offsetting penalties is fine but stomping on opponents isn’t supposed to be tolerated.
No, but it would've been 4th & 10 from their own 26 wouldn't it. You feel comfortable they win the game from that situation? I highly doubt it. Great stat Will!
Hoping Bills Damian Harris is ok... no word as of early this morning. Carted off on stretcher to ambulance (possible neck injury). He was conscious and gave a thumbs up.
Maybe we are rushing to judgment too quickly to anoint Purdy as the best QB from last year’s draft. Purdy played for the first extended period without Samuels or CMC and couldn’t do crap once they were out. Pickett played without his top WR Johnson when he played the Browns. For anyone interested, Pickett played a much better game against the Browns defense than Purdy played. Pickett was at 50% completions with 222 yds a TD and a INT. Purdy was 44% 125 a TD and a INT. The Browns are the number one defense in the league right now. 1
Come on, man . . . The whole world knows that Pickett had absolutely nothing to do with the Steelers' win over the Browns. Watson delivered a pass right into TE Harrison Bryant's hands when Bryant himself tipped the ball into the air and Highsmith ended up with a pick six. Post game, Jedrick Wills admitted he forgot the snap count and remained in his stance for (at least) a full second after the snap. He proceeded to watch Highsmith strip Watson of the ball and T.J. Watt scooped it up and ran it in four a TD. That's 14 defensive points. The Steelers won by 2 points. [edit] In no way am I trying to diminish the Steelers' win. Defensive points count. But, to say Pickett played a better game is ludicrous. Entering the 4th quarter, the Steelers were down by 4 (5?) points, generated -7 yards of offense in the 4th quarter - and won.
I made this call as it happened live... you make the call. Complete Bull Shit by the Refs. But what can you do? Nothing now will change the call or give the Giants another chance, but you'd think the NFL would get it right with the Refs and straighten this shit out. Its getting worse. Im all for getting it right with todays technology and Im all for the 'human element', but these kind of things is ruining a great entity called the NFL... which is trying to expand globally when they cant get it right in their own backyard.
