Break out the flamethrowers, I don't give a shit...

Mason Rudolph is a better quarterback than Kenny Pickett.

The only way this game can end with any kind of sense...

The Browns with a 7-minute drive to score a touchdown with under 30 seconds left.

I don’t want Trubisky ever to play for the Steelers again. If Rudolph was the starter I could live with that.

I really go to bat for this guy but I'm jumping off the wagon on him. There are guys who make up for a low physical ceiling with awareness and moxie. I don't think Pickett has that either. I know Johnson is out but there's capable playmakers on the team. Pickett can't consistently put the ball in a place where plays can be made.

Crazy that the most disturbing footage this weekend isn't Chubb injury but a Dolphin's fan murdering a Patriots fan in the stands.

I seen some video of that (chose NOT to post it) and its really disturbing. Too many people cheer that shit on instead of trying to stop it. These pussified fights go on a lot and its in front of children and innocent people who paid an arm and a leg to see a damn game and they usually get hurt. I will not shell out my bucks to even be in that atmosphere... best seat in the house is the seat in my house, period. The ass-hole's who do this stuff should be banned from all sporting events in all sports and genres for life and thats just for starters... throw the full extent of the law on them and throw away the key.

Just how drunk were you last night?

Haha! This guy is cordially invited to future Bears game threads. You'll fit right in.

I know you find it hard to contain your Carr love Tim...... with the exception of 2 really nice throws Carr was horrible last night. Indecisive, saw the field terribly, missed a string of intermediate throws often outside the numbers, that were open. His numbers flatter him hugely from that game, inflated thanks to a couple of deep shots landing and Thomas being back in full security blanket mode. Thomas caught 7 of 9 targets for a pretty measly 8ypc, but a lot of them were tough catches. Take Thomas out and Carr goes something like 14 of 28. Carolina's good DL played well, but still, it was all round weak from Carr.

Just stopping in on another QB we've talked about. Geno was no great shakes in Week1, but holy hell he balled the F out against the Lions(which i thank him for). I looked up his rating from that game and immediately gave that 116qbr a glove slap. This is why the box score never comes close. The numbers were good, but the way he continually slid around in the pocket, escaped and extended plays, made clutch throws in the face of a fierce pass rush....if it took everything into account that qbr would've had another 30+ points on it. The Lions felt a hearbeat away from getting there all game, they finished with 1 sack & 1 QB hit. As it is, Goff came out of that game with the better rating than Geno. Funny.

It will be very interesting to see how consistently he can play to that level but he was worth every bit of the money last week.

Which Steelers fan had the massive irrational boner for Trubisky, was it Beachbum? Hey maybe he'll be proved right

I just want to thank any team that beats Carolina this year. It would be awesome for Chicago to have the first two picks in the draft this year and still manage to completely fuck them up.

Meant to reply to this earlier.

Massive tip of the hat to the Steelers fans, what a class act. Prolly gets his crippled ass booed off the field in Philly.

Seriously tho, horrific injury. You hope he can make it back.

    Less than you think. lol

The game script favored the Saints taking more downfield shots in the second half, and we watched Olave and Shaheed grab chunks of yardage from passes that were taking forever to get there.

I had witnessed enough of 'Derek ball' that it was obvious - Letting Jameis wing it would have produced more splash plays and broke the game open for New Orleans.

The Panthers didn't have an answer either way, IMO.

If you're talking QBR, as in the ESPN bullshit number... Yeah, that shit is garbage.

Standard passer rating simply calculates the efficiency of the numbers they put up, so it's just a glimpse at effectiveness per drop back, and I like it as a simple metric.

But what you are saying about the eyes giving more context is spot on. Seattle offensively is finding its way around Geno's inefficient spots by creating sudden windows, and when he reads them quickly it looks like the bomb technician clipping the blue wire with 1 second left.

We'll see how it plays out over a full season, but I think Seattle caught Detroit at a good time in the schedule. The Lions were coming off a huge statement win on the road against a Super bowl champion, then they had the extra time for decompression before the home opener.

If this game was replayed 5 times, I'm not sold Seattle wins 3.

Justin Fields, is he a bust or a victim of unfortunate circumstances?

Over 29 NFL games, including 27 starts, he has posted a 59.4 percent completion rate and 78.8 passer rating. Those poor numbers are compounded by his 24 interceptions, 31 fumbles (only eight lost, which is quite fortunate) and 101 sacks taken (including an NFL-high 55 last season). <--- per NFL.com.

I didnt like some of his comments recently and then the 'backpedaling' to clear himself, but this also tells me he is clearly frustrated. Maybe it would do him well to go out there "pissed off and mad about it" (good tune by, THC) and play instinctively. I wonder if a system can completely destroy a good player or do good to great players find a way around the BS?

  20. BearsWillWin Drunk (Probably) Patreon Champion Manager Bears Blackhawks Cubs

At the moment the answer is yes to both.

He hasn't been coached well but he also isn't controlling the controllables that some other QBs do in bad situations.
