Yes, it was very dumb of me to bring up games in which Le'Veon Bell actually played against New England and the Steelers still lost, as opposed to YOU bringing up a game in which he didn't play at all. Brilliant. Second, I was just having fun with Gid - you know, kind'a like how he took a stab at Dallas in an earlier post and I responded. I notice you didn't say anything about that. Guess it's only when someone says something negative about the Steelers that you need to put on your white hat, climb on your horse and defend the town. I didn't realize you were Gid's humorless old man who needs to come to his defense. Get off my lawn, Axe!
For full disclosure, Axe, when you posted about the 11 point loss in the regular season, were you even aware that Ben didn't play in that game? I only ask because it would make me agree with beach that it was a pretty stupid comparison, even if in some sort of jest, if you knew Landry Jones was the starting QB that day and still used it as an example of a Pats beatdown with Bell playing. If not, its okay to admit that you didn't know, or didn't remember, that. In that case, it wasn't a stupid comparison, just an uninformed one, which is less egregious. Saying Bell would have made the difference in the playoffs is silly. He could have made a difference, but its not likely the Steelers win that game even if Bell is 100%. The defense had no answers. Keeping the ball away from Brady a bit more might have kept the game closer, but it wouldn't have changed it completely. That all said, the game in Pittsburgh was close enough without Ben to give me hope that the Steelers aren't that far from being able to beat the Pats. *HIGH*
Leveon says they would have won if he had played (which I've already disagreed with). You respond with, "Well you played earlier in the year and got beat" and either fail to recognize or don't care that Landry Jones started at QB. That's just dumb anyway you cut it. But carry on as if you're brilliant.
No, I didn't. I was just busting balls with Gid, and Beach seemingly needed to step in and defend his turf, as if I was making a serious assault on the Steelers.
Didn't realize Landry Jones played that game. SECOND time - I was just busting balls with Gid. Please - carry on as if a major felony was committed. Great stuff.

much Haason Reddick love. I only know what I read about him but you like him that much better Reuben Foster?
Going off of how I score players there is enough of a gap between Foster and Reddick that it's noticeable. The biggest edge for me is the ability to get after the quarterback. The lateral movement that Reddick possesses will make him much more potent at generating pressure. I think he has the athletic movement ability of Anthony Barr with the strength and tenacity of Hardy Nickerson Sr., and that's a pretty deadly combination.
I personally prefer Foster in a 4-3 and Reddick in a 3-4 or certain 4-3 schemes. We all know that all 3-4s and 4-3s are not made equal. "Base scheme" nowadays has a double meaning.
It simplifies things for me when I break it down to their raw scores and make them position dependent. Going by that measurement makes Reddick a clear favorite to Foster in the interior of both schemes. With regards to the outside in a 4-3 and assignment specifics, although it may be a closer race in certain instances I would still be hard pressed to come up with a clear cut reason to put Foster ahead of Reddick for any potential situation.
I personally think Foster's best position in the pros would be 4-3 Weakside and that is where I'd want him if the Eagles took him. Many teams will probably be looking at him to go inside in either base scheme though. I'd prefer Reddick on the strongside in a 4-3. Reddick I could see as a 3-4 OLB and as far as ILB goes it will be more team specific but in situations where more coverage is necessary I'd prefer Foster. So I'd likely have Foster in 4-3 and they could both work in a 3-4 depending on which ILB spot the team is looking to fill.
I can see the reasoning that plays into your decision making, but I believe the athleticism that Reddick has will transfer well enough to coverage situations that Foster's edge there does not make up the difference for the lacking in pass rush ability and overall comparative skill. Hearing lots of chatter linking Charles Harris to the Eagles now. It appears from an outside view that they have it narrowed down to Ross or Charles depending on who might be available.
About Foster, it's not just the coverage but it plays a factor. As for the Eagles I've seen it's down to 5 guys from an outside view with those 2 being generating the most buzz, Charles more recently. Honestly I tired of the buzz scene. Go to an Eagles site and you can talk up any prospect on the main page and suddenly every idiot wants to draft him. Nothing against Harris. I drafted him in the mock and he could go mid 1st without batting an eye. The other 3 guys are Gareon Conley, Christian McCaffrey and Derek Barnett. As for some names the Eagles could get on Day 2 you should not be surprised about: Chidobe Awuzie Davon Godchaux Chris Godwin Alvin Kamara Kevin King Jordan Willis Quincy Wilson Ahkello Witherspoon And a sleeper for the 3rd round because you gotta name at least 1: Jordan Morgan Of course the rumour mill is large as is the list of names from an outside view but those are some to keep in the back of your mind come the draft.
The three round mock I have put together has them moving up for King in the second. Awuzie was already off the board to Oakland as there is quite a bit linking the two at the bottom of the first. Ross in the first and Carlos Watkins in the third off of memory is how the rest went. Jordan Willis has been virtually impossible to track. I currently have him going to the Bucs in the third round. Quincy Wilson could be gone at the bottom of the first, but I like him a bit better where the Eagles are drafting in the second. I don't have a real good feel for Kamara, but I think the drafting community may like him a little better than scouts do. He probably goes in the second, but so did T.J. Yeldon. Godwin's stock has absolutely skyrocketed this past couple weeks and at this point I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he is off the board before the Eagles come up in the second. I'm not liking Witherspoon that high, but if the Eagles took him in the third I wouldn't argue with it. The biggest beneficiary of Brantley being a jackass this close to the draft would probably be Godchaux. I don't like him up there in the second but the top of the third would be a nice spot. If Philly took him with their second pick I would probably pan it on the boards, lol.
Ya I wouldn't like some of those guys in the 2nd (note I said DAY 2 and not 2nd round). So much "1st round talent" to be had why waste it. I would not be upset with your 3 rounds at all, not my ideal but I can deal with it.
In my final mock of the season that will be out in about... 4 hours, I have it broke into 3 parts. Projection - What might happen based on all the info I have pieced together from online sources and the group of writers, former and current people in the know that I have gotten friendly with over the years. Reflection - Why all of my mock picks are most likely wrong and everything I researched leads me to bullshit conclusions. Perfection - A first round without trades, using a combination of the L4SN player rankings and my own to match up with my own personal view of team needs to create a perfect first round for all 31 (sorry SPress) teams. I rearranged it several times before deciding on a final copy and strangely enough, Charles Harris slotted in with the Eagles almost every time.
29 teams. No Pats (Cooks), Rams (Goff) or Vikings (Bradford). Also I recall you saying we were going to do a 1st round prediction challenge again. When will that be up. (Reminder to self: Add up those March Madness Challenge scores. lol)
