Zeke is better out of the backfield than AP. Guess I'm just not seeing how AP makes Dallas so much better.
He might have the same shot in Oakland (their line ranked 5th in run blocking last year per pff)and he will be more of the guy which I believe he still wants to be. I dont think he is quite ready to accept a back up roll just to grab a ring.

I've been doing this quite a while now, and I'm not sure I have seen a running back prospect as hyped as Dalvin Cook come in with such a low score on our system. Dalvin is projected as a high first round pick on a lot of sites, with some even ranking him over Leonard Fournette. I see fools gold here.
I know I drafted Cook but I don't know what to think of him. I thought it would be cool to go down that route if Baltimore took him if he was available and work from there. I like Fournette better for sure although he feels a bit like an underachiever and I wish he didn't do horrible vs Alabama 2 years in a row. That may have been more to do with their lack of passing game in that time though.
Ya, Cook has a fumble history, arrests and cant run between the tackles... his down side just about erases his pluses, imo.
Similar to last season where the seeming consensus on the top rated wide receivers were incorrect, I believe they have it wrong again. Isaiah "Zay" Jones will be the top wide receiver in this draft class.
I like Jones. He may very well be a 1st rounder. He'll make a case to be top WR. One thing I notice is that mocks can't decide where to place the 3 consensus top WRs. Some have none in the top half of the round, some have all of them in the top half, some have Davis or Williams near the end of the round. As for last year, I want to see how Coleman and Treadwell do healthy. Doctson will see an increased role this year and Fuller will have a quarterback. This year's class is fairly deep but we may soon see how truly deep last year's was.
I still think Coleman is the second best receiver in last year's group. Treadwell can be a solid #2, big possession target with high redzone numbers. Doctson has potential to become a solid pro and I would have liked to have seen him get a full year. If I had to pick one of the top 4 that was most likely to prove me wrong and pass up Michael Thomas, it would be Doctson. Fuller is gonna be what he is. Fast in a line, run past a defender, catch some and drop more than he should. You just don't draft a one trick pony in the first round at WR. Which brings me back to this year. Ross is viewed as the second or third option on most sites. Williams and Davis consistently jockey for #1. Davis is going to be a very solid receiver and if he can land in a situation similar to Michael Crabtree's (the man across from 'the man') he's going to be very difficult to contain. Williams will be a solid contributor and the kind of player that can get a consistent stat line but I don't see the ability to take over a game at the pro level. Ross is simply not a true #1 receiver. His style of play, his injury history and his size should all be enough question marks to drive him down boards but speed is just too much of an allure for some GMs and he will likely be over-drafted, maybe even top 15.
I wonder if there will be riots in Oakland when the Raiders move to Las Vegas... I hope not . Seems to me, some folks arnt going to be too happy.
Well the hope for me (as a fan of the cowboys) it's that Carolina takes fournette before he falls to Philly. Cook is great but Fournette will probably wind up being the most feared back in the nfl before its all said and done. Don't get me wrong I love zeke and think highly of him but that's just what I see out of Fournette. The recent trends in the nfl have given way to the idea that running backs are a dime a dozen, but after seeing what a difference a truly top shelf running back can make with what Dallas did last year and what the Steelers looked like with vs without Bell, I think they'll start to catch on. Most of the nfl place a premium on the passing game, which means teams build their defenses accordingly, to stop the pass, which stands to reason that when a defense is pitted against a dominant running game, they are usually just overmatched.
kyle-i don't think dallas has anything to worry about from the eagles. they could draft Jesus Christ at RB and it still won't matter. they need a lot more players than just 1.
Things can change quickly. Y'all have a young promising qb. The defense isn't great, but not terrible, either. Y'all have some playmakers on the D. If your receivers could catch a damn ball every now and then, you would be ok. Just need to get a running game established and for God sakes, get Lane Johnson off of PEDs. His absence was very noticeable.
A consistent CB and Lane not being dumb would help a lot. An RB too of course but the WRs that could catch would make it easier on the runners.
well they spent a ton of jeffery and smith?? isn't that enough wr with ertz at te and matthews?? or do they need to draft one BEFORE a RB?
