Na, Jets not a shocker, Rams are close but Rivers should beat this team (Browns). Why does Rivers still get clustered with Eli and Ben. What has he ever done? He had one of the greatest all purpose backs and a solid d....never did shit. To me Rivers is not in the same class as the other two. JMO
To bad about Carr and Moriata today. Really hurts both teams long term chances this year. More so the Raiders as they were poised to make a playoff run.
Agreed its all Pats now, unless KC or the Steelers can knock em off...Steelers gotta take care of business though. If I were you, Pats fan, I would root for Ravens.
Maybe if the Chargers had not lost wonky games all season but they have lost some crazy games all year. I would say Titans loosing to the Jags is worse. Someone will say the Titans lost mariota but they were already down 25-10 before he left the game int he third quarter. Even when he was in the Jags were winning every aspect of the game.
Rivers is always going to be clustered with them because of the draft. He also has some damn good numbers. No he doesnt have a Super Bowl there are quite a few great QBs who were never able to capture the big prize.
Kirk Cousins winning his next two games will get him a huge contract. If he loses to the Giants, especially if they rest, he's gonna be struggling for a decent contract. The real tough one is going to be if they win but the Lions and Packers tie to both make the playoffs. Then what?
The New York Giants should lose on purpose. Go "rest". The Lions or Packers will miss the playoffs & the Redskins will pay Kirk Cousins.
Not nearly as much on head-to-head shots, because that could open the league up to lawsuits. Doesn't matter one iota. Shots to the head are illegal. Again - because he seems to take far more hits than other QBs, and not just as a runner. So some players get protected, and others don't, and if you don't like it tough cookies? Not so sure it's "whining" if he's right. He can, clearly. But it's hardly equitable when he doesn't receive the same treatment as other players. Seem to recall Steelers fans crying and pissing and moaning when James Harrison kept getting flagged for hitting with his helmet. This just the opposite side of that coin.
I don't see them winning in Green Bay, but they can still get in with a loss and a Giants win over Washington. But the G-Men would STILL be going to Green Bay in that scenario.
Sorry - I knew that. I still don't see them beating Green Bay, even in Detroit. Since injuring his finger, Matt Stafford has thrown 1 TD and 4 INTs. And if Darius Slay is still out...fuggedaboudit, Aaron Rodgers will have a field day/
As a neutral observer I want to see the Lions and Packers make it. Best teams please. Washington are frauds.
Detroit is 1-4 against teams with a winning record; Skins are 3-4. Not sure Detroit isn't a fraud, either.
Touch?. Although I still think Detroit is better with Stafford healthy. Weird stat. Did you know that until their week 13 win vs the Saints, the Lions had every game finish within 7. Their last 2 losses with Stafford injured were the only games they lost by worse.
Ya, The Lions have been winning their games late in the 4th quarter. So much so, they were being called the cardiac kids. They just couldn't matchup with the Cowboys. Why didn't they stick with Zenner running the football turned out to be a huge mistake.
I agree. One of Dallas' best run-stuffers (Cedric Thornton) wasn't playing, and Detroit was clearly having success running.
Is it a fair assessment to say that Sean Payton has underachieved as head coach of the Saints? With only one championship and several seasons far below average it's hard to argue otherwise (in the past three seasons at no point have the Saints had a winning record).
Personally, I believe bountygate was a bigger part of their program than they publicly admitted. While not being caught, I also believe other teams have incentive laden "rewards" for success on game day. While, probably not as bold as head hunter prizes, they are also not under the microscope the way the Saints (in particular, as long as Payton is there) are. IMHO, this cripples what he coached up in the past and this coupled with Brees contract numbers and losing two potential game changers in the form of lost 2nd round draft picks...I think that was the beginning of the end of Payton in New Orleans.
