Just one more word on the Hue thing. I was pissed at Hue Jackson. I was on record as not on board with the signing to begin with and was ready to dump him after 2016. The reason I didn't want to draft a Trubisky, Watson, or Mahomes in the 2017 season was that I didn't want Hue ruining a rookie quarterback. I believe he held the team back and I fundamentally disagree that the roster talent was the bigger culprit for 1-31. Buffalo won six games this season with trash quarterbacks and a piss-poor roster. Jacksonville - a legitimate Super Bowl contender - won only five games this season, despite an ultra-talented roster. Good coaching will do more for a team than a talented roster ever will. HAVING SAID ALL THAT... I'm personally leaving Hue in 2018. He was a bum and a footnote in our team's history, like a LOT of other underachievers since 1999. While I certainly didn't enjoy the ride, I'm not going to question the path that got us to Baker Mayfield, Myles Garrett, Nick Chubb, Denzel Ward, and so many others that has our future looking so bright. If we didn't lose every game in 2017, there's a great chance we don't get Baker and aren't setup for the next decade with a Top 3 (yes, I said it and won't walk it back) QB in the NFL. Hell, from that standpoint, I really owe Hue a genuine 'thanks'. All I know is now, I've never been more excited for the future and can't wait to make the Patriots' dynasty look more like a fluky hot streak. #GoBrowns
I'm ready to move on. Just saying, don't expect the debacle of HJ's Browns to be quietly swept under the rug. They were epic for all the wrong reasons, and you know how the media loves to relive the agony of the Cleveland sports fan..... Unfortunately, we are tagged with that guy in the record books forever. When we win the SB next year, they will speak of how far we came from the depths of the 1-31 Hue Jackson era...just chalk it right in with Red Right 88, The Drive and the Fumble, for the media to drudge up. Nobody ever lets Cleveland forget their sports misery.
