With hindsight being 20/20 and all...

    Christian McCaffery 1.08
    Patrick Mahomes 1.10
    DeShaun Watson 1.12

EDIT: I think the Minshew comment might have gone over my head.

I believe if you would have had McCaffrey go to JAC and Fournette go to CAR we are looking at different career arcs. I'm not suggesting that they swap productivity, but I do think Leonard would have been much better off with the support system that Carolina had when Christian arrived. How much the scenery change affects each player will be interesting to watch in the upcoming years.

Mahomes should have been a top 3 pick (had him at #2 in my perfection mock) and Watson should have been in that top 3 as well, but I didn't even have him listed in the first for that version so my hindsight needs some alcohol to smooth out the rough edges, lol.

Jacksonville believed they still had a franchise quarterback in Bortles.

They should have just checked with anybody on this forum to find out just how damn wrong they were...

LOL good stuff. When you look at these picks you really have to dive deep into how you felt then - which is not easy to do. Personally, I thought Fournette was an absolute beast - and he still is. So I can't actually say I disagree with the pick. But I did like Watson so I'm not sure. Had I been in that spot I would have done my best to trade back. But you can only do that if someone is willing to move up.

The idea behind my perfection mock is to remove all trades and draft for each team based on what I feel their needs are and what would be the best fit/value for that pick.

I had the Jags taking O.J. Howard.

Mahomes went to the Niners and McCaffrey went to the Colts.

But it's exactly like you said. You're looking at it through the prism of what you think could be the future reality of players that have never played a down for teams that will be drastically different as soon as the next 15 minutes.

It's a bit like being a fortune teller, only the cards are good for poker, they smell like stale beer, the beer is likely stale and my balls aren't made of crystal.

Holy hell what is up with OJ Howard? Talent in spades. Is he just a knucklehead?

Could you imagine Mahomes in SF with Shanahan? Unbeateable (although Andy is really awesome too).

McCaffrey to the Colts. Maybe Luck is still playing?

You're going to send me head first down the rabbit hole of 'What if?', and it's a long tumble down to the bottom of that MFer, lol.

Howard may see his career turnaround quick with a new/old arm feeding him the rock, or if he gets dealt into the right situation.

Mahomes probably doesn't develop into the stud that he is as quickly as he did without the time spent with both Andy and Alex Smith. I still think the time on the bench watching one of the better game managers when it came to protecting the ball through smart decisions made a big and immediate impact on his career.

McCaffrey to the Luck commanded Colts just felt like the perfect matching. You may be right in suggesting Andrew may still throwing the ball in Indy if Christian would have developed into the focal point of the offense. Just seemed like an opportunity to give Indy another young Marshall Faulk type to spearhead the offense.

2020 hindsite: Is TJ Watt picked before Myles Garrett?

I’ll still say no. LB wasn’t as big of an issue for Cleveland as DE was. Both are elite talents, but the Browns filled a bigger hole with Garrett.

I personally like TJ better now than Garrett

I’m a big fan of both of their games, however there’s a specific difference between the two. Garrett is the better talent and TJ is the harder worker.

I couldn’t see Garrett on the Steelers

Agreed but TJ would be a DE on the Browns

I wonder if that would effect his pass rush any?

  18. StlCrtn Franchise Player Steelers

Probably a little bit but I believe he played that at Wisconsin.

No problem at all. This kid makes the NFL fun. He's a character and a good leader too, I hear. I'm hoping he can have some success.

Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb are co-favorites to be first receiver drafted

In a very deep wide receiver draft class, two stand above the rest as the receivers likeliest to go off the board first.

Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy and Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb have the best odds to be the first receiver off the board, with both of them at +110 at MGM’s sports book.

After Jeudy and Lamb, Alabama’s Henry Ruggs has the third-best odds to go first at wide receiver. Ruggs is listed at +325.

If you think someone other than Jeudy, Lamb and Ruggs will be the first receiver off the board, there are some very tempting odds for you. LSU’s Justin Jefferson is at +8000, and five receivers are at +10,000: Baylor’s Denzel Mims, TCU’s Jalen Reagor, Clemson’s Tee Higgins, Colorado’s Laviska Shenault and Arizona State’s Brandon Aiyuk.

Despite all the talent at wide receiver in this draft, many mock drafts don’t have any wide receivers going in the Top 10. There are so many good receivers this year that teams may think it’s better to address another need in the first round and get a receiver in the second. But some receiver will go first off the board, and it’s likely to be Jeudy or Lamb.
