The job Wentz has done this season without tools to work with in the passing game would have him in the MVP conversation if Lamar Jackson didn't exist.
I was watching the Fox pregame show on Sunday. Even Terry Bradshaw said that "Jerry should step down and hand the reigns over to his son. His son would do a better job". Why does Al Davis keep popping into my head ?????
Jerry's money bought the team, so he can do with as he pleases. Money talks bullshit walks. Only health will take him away.
The Steelers owners always passed on the team when they got Jerry's age. But the Steelers have been a one family team. They sold it for a small time and then got it back after a short time.
Not sure I'm buying into that. No, his weapons were not great - no argument. But prior to the last month of the season, he was being criticized (and rightly so) for his game: a lot of missed passes, a lot of fumbles, a 5-7 record. Nice 4-game turnaround, no doubt. But taking the season in toto - I'm not seeing an MVP-caliber season.
I think when you consider what's around him and then consider he put up 4000 yards and a nearly 4 to 1 TD to INT ratio.....it makes a case. 4th most completions, 9th in yards, 5th in touchdowns, 21st in INTs, 6th in first downs. 4 game winning drives and 2 4th quarter comebacks. MVP doesn't mean best player. It literally means who is most valuable to their team. The Eagles are looking at a top 5 draft pick this season without Wentz. The other guys I can think of that brought that kind of value to their team are Rodgers and Jackson.
