Dolphins will likely be the trendy pick team next year. Wether they will be able to continue upward movement or not will remain to be seen. When you consider the hand the coaching staff was delt i think they did a hell of a job.
Lacerated Kidney and rib issue. Pederson says he wont practice Thursday, but there is a chance he will play vs Seattle. Goedert will once again need to step up.
I give the Eagles all the credit in the world for how they've played the last 4 weeks with all their injures. Pederson and crew have done a good job. I'm definitely cheering for them this weekend.
I think they were able to evaluate him within the bubble of what they had to work with. I’m thinking they have a scheme in mind that they want to implement after having a year to study their own offense. It could be as simple as O’Shea’s ideology doesn’t mesh with that.
Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll to interview with Browns Add Brian Daboll’s name to a growing list of candidates for the Browns’ head coaching vacancy. Tom Pelissero of the NFL reports that the Browns requested permission to interview the Bills offensive coordinator. Cleveland also has Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman, 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, former Packers head coach Mike McCarthy and Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski on its list of candidates to replace Freddie Kitchens via various sources. Daboll became the Bills’ offensive coordinator for two seasons. He has spent time on the staff of Nick Saban at Alabama and Bill Belichick at New England. Daboll had two stints as an assistant with the Patriots, winning five Super Bowl rings. He was co-offensive coordinator with the Crimson Tide in 2017. In 2009-10, Daboll was the Browns’ offensive coordinator. source; NBC
The Kansas City Chiefs won a first-round playoff bye but lost a key member of their defense in the process. Coach Andy Reid confirmed Monday that safety Juan Thornhill tore his ACL in Sunday's win over the L.A. Chargers and his season is over. The news is a brutal blow for a Chiefs defense that has coalesced down the stretch. A second-round pick out of Virginia started from the jump of his rookie season and teamed with Tyrann Mathieu to stabilize the K.C. backend. Thornhill went down with a non-contact injury Sunday in the first half. Mostly playing the deep field, allowing Mathieu to rove, Thornhill compiled 58 tackles, three INTs, a pick-six, and five passes defended in 16 starts. With the impressive rookie done for the playoffs, Kendall Fuller and Armani Watts are slated to help replace Thornhill. "All players are different," Reid said, via Nate Taylor of The Athletic. "Kendall Fuller, one of our most flexible guys, plays everywhere." With a bye week to tinker, at least the Chiefs have some time to solidify their playoff plan. source; NFL.com
But, them 'scrubs' got you there. Id be very careful playing the Eagles right now... they have a little thing called 'experience'.
Coaching staff maybe but how much playoff experiance do the players really have (especially the offense)?
You know, I thought about that after I wrote that and maybe they don't have the experience at key positions, but as you mentioned the coaching staff is one and maybe along the trenches is another area where they do. Seems to me if they can control the line of scrimmage on both sides, you can plug-n-play just about anybody on that team and they will have success.
Ron Rivera agrees to become next Washington coach... Any hurdles they may have had negotiating a deal clearly weren’t hard to clear. According to Mike Silver of NFL Network, Ron Rivera has agreed to a deal to become Washington’s next head coach. Rivera lends a bit of gravity to a franchise that desperately needs it. The two-time NFL coach of the year is known for building bonds and developing a strong culture, both of which Dan Snyder’s team is in serious need of. They’ll still need to work on their front office after finally getting rid of Bruce Allen, but hiring Rivera is a strong positive step. The fact that he was available a month ago after being fired by the Panthers also allowed them to move quickly, before other teams could. source; NBC
I think Washington snapped up the coaching candidate that several teams will look back and wish they had hired. I don't think that odd red / gold color is a good fit for Ron's aesthetic, but I'm sure he'll do a great job there.
Dolphins hiring Chan Gailey as offensive coordinator... The Dolphins are going old-school with their new offensive coordinator. Chan Gailey is coming out of retirement and will be the next offensive coordinator in Miami, NFL Network is reporting. The 67-year-old Gailey last coached as the Jets’ offensive coordinator in 2016. He has previously been head coach of the Bills and Cowboys, and his many stints as an offensive coordinator include a previous stop in Miami in 2000 and 2001. Ryan Fitzpatrick was Gailey’s starting quarterback for all three of his years in Buffalo, and then was the starting quarterback again for both of Gailey’s seasons as offensive coordinator of the Jets, so it appears likely the Dolphins will keep Fitzpatrick, who finished the 2019 season strong. Dolphins head coach Brian Flores fired offensive coordinator Chad O’Shea yesterday and is now moving quickly to replace him, with a coach everyone thought was retired but will now try to get the Dolphins back into contention. source; NBC
I always thought that Gailey was not HC material but did well as an OC. If they give him something to work with, I think he'll be fine.
NFL Rumors: Cowboys Fire Entire Coaching Staff After Disappointing Season https://nesn.com/2019/12/nfl-rumors-cowboys-fire-entire-coaching-staff-after-disappointing-season/ Personally, I would NOT fire the entire staff.
