yeah i read it and they stated that months ago when they signed harper. well they played 3 on the road 2 years ago too without harper and the playoffs. to me it's too much and they're the only team doing it seems odd.
Moral of the story... never ever rely on the Phillies. Especially when scheduling an NFL team... wow.
not true. from 08-2011 the phillies played a few playoff games on a Sunday where the Eagles played at home. The NFL even changed the start time of the Eagles-Giants game to not have it during the Phils playoff game. They assumed with signing Bryce Harper they would make the playoffs this year. They were wrong and now the Eagles are paying the price for that mistake with 3 road games.
This is one of the things I was alluding to earlier when I said the NFL takes a lot of different things into account when setting up the league's schedule. Events going on in (or around) the venue around that time frame are considered: concerts, conventions, other sporting events. Eagles aren't the only team that has issues with the schedule. It's never going to be perfect.
having their stadium close to the phillies stadium and the transit and parking issues and traffic is a part of it too. in other cities where two sports teams don't share the same facility or parking lots, it's less of an issue. Take on the Wells Fargo Center for Hockey and Hoops and it's a mess for Philly people if 2 teams play at the same time, let alone 3.
Could be worse dont the spurs have to play on the road for almost a month because of the rodeo? At least if your being displaved by a playoff team (if it happens) its at least a playoff team.
Every freaking year the Spurs play on the road for a month. When they had Duncan they would win those road games like they were nothing, then they would come home and kick ass at home till the playoffs.
The Bulls and Blackhawks used to go on a long west coast trip each season due to the circus coming to Chicago and playing at the Chicago Stadium and later the United Center. Finally came to an end recently when the circus moved to a smaller venue.
