Is that confirmed? As far as I know, there's been no definite offer. That story about a #2 sounds like a spin of something Adam Shefter said on 97.5 The Fanatic yesterday - he said the 49ers got two #2s for Alex Smith, but since Bradford wasn't as productive, healthy, and successful as Smith, maybe the deal is just one #2; maybe Denver doesn't want to do that, and maybe Philly would want more.
well cbs sportsline said the eagles wanted more than a 2nd rounder...? who the hells knows. i hope when roger goodell calls out "And the Philadelphia Eagles with the second take Carson Wentz" that Sam blows his freaking head off!
Here's my official 1st rd mock just ahead of the draft. Enjoy! http://live4sportnetwork.com/frontend/on-the-clock-final-2016-mock-draft/
Von Miller confident a deal will be reached soon DENVER (AP) ? Von Miller declared just 12 hours after winning the Super Bowl MVP award that his contract talks this offseason were "going to be a peaceful thing" that he wouldn't fret over. Nothing has changed his mind. The star linebacker said during an appearance at his charity event Wednesday night at Sports Authority Field he's optimistic a long-term contract with the Denver Broncos will come together "any day" even though there "hasn't been much movement." It's the eternal optimist in him. "That's just the mind-set I have," Miller said before handing out hundreds of eyeglasses to underprivileged youth as part of his "Von's Vision" foundation. "I'm optimistic about it. I don't have any hard feelings about it. I'm training, grinding, staying in shape and whenever the time comes, I'll be ready to go," Miller added. Miller hasn't signed his $14.129 million tag while his agent, Joby Branion, seeks a contract that would make his client the NFL's highest-paid defensive player. That distinction now belongs to Miami defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, whose six-year, $114.375 million contract includes nearly $60 million in guaranteed money and is worth $19.062 million annually. General manager John Elway recently said there's only been one offer and one counter-offer and that contract talks would resume after the upcoming draft. He also said he hopes it doesn't go down to the July 15 deadline as it did with receiver Demaryius Thomas last summer. "I would hope not but we'll see," Elway said at his pre-draft news conference last week. "I think that it's not nearly as bad as people have it portrayed at being out there. I know what I think of Von Miller and I know what this organization thinks of Von Miller. He is very important to us, and we're going to work our tails off to try and get something done with him." Miller struck a similar tone in his comments, saying he expects to be signing a deal soon and returning to his teammates at Broncos headquarters.
NFL DRAFT: Key to first round lies in 3rd pick with Chargers CHICAGO (AP) ? For once, the key to the first round of the NFL draft doesn't belong to the team picking first. Or second. With the Rams and Eagles having traded up to secure the top two spots, where they have said they will take quarterbacks, it's San Diego that likely will determine the flow on Thursday night. What will the Chargers do with the third selection? Perhaps defensive back Jalen Ramsey of Florida State, considered one of the best athletes and most NFL-ready players available. Maybe Laremy Tunsil, the Ole Miss offensive tackle who can pile-drive blockers into submission. Pass rushers Joey Bosa of Ohio State and DeForest Buckner of Oregon could be in the mix, too. Maybe linebacker Myles Jack of UCLA. Chargers general manager Tom Telesco has not been shy about making draft-day deals, either. "Like Tom talked about last week at his press conference," coach Mike McCoy said in a web chat with fans, "we were looking at every scenario with trade possibilities. When those two teams traded ahead of us, that settled things down a bit. The phones weren't ringing quite as often. "We're excited to get on the clock at pick No. 3." Dallas follows right behind San Diego, and the Cowboys could be thinking defense or even running back if Ohio State's Ezekiel Elliott suits their tastes. Their offensive line is strong enough from recent drafts that selecting Tunsil is a long shot. Then again, some scouts have rated Tunsil the top prospect in the entire crop, and left tackles are a premium commodity. So a bunch of other clubs in need of help on the O-line could be lining up to get the fourth overall pick. Two other intriguing selections in the top 10 belong to San Francisco and Cleveland. Both could be in the market for a quarterback such as Paxton Lynch; Colin Kaepernick has said he would like out of San Francisco, and the Browns, despite adding Robert Griffin III, always are looking for a QB. The 49ers have the seventh spot, and the Browns, after trading down from No. 2, will go eighth. Of course, considering the mega-trades pulled off so far, the top 10 could look very different by the time Los Angeles opens the selection process. Not to mention how the rest of the 31-pick round (New England forfeited its pick in the deflated footballs saga) might go.
for some reason the twitter post weren't there bf and cut off the rest of the article. i tried finding a different article but couldn't. they all say it was too high of a request for bradford. who the hell knows what that means.
CBS Sportsline was jokingly saying what if the Eagles didn't take Wentz and this was the biggest smokescreen in NFL Draft History. Interesting point. They keep suckass Bradford, don't take Wentz and take someone else. Hmm. I still don't like it. haha.
There's an article on NFL.com today that says while the Broncos inquired as to Bradford's availability, no compensation was discussed. My guess? Various outlets heard of Shefter's discussion on The Fanatic, and re-reported it incorrectly.
axe- i did find this morning if a trade does happen at all, it would be for late rd picks, so again, who knows. then i read denver is done with philly and moving on. no sense in trying to assume anything until it happens live.
just read if goff goes #1 he will make the same amount of money as the #4th overall pick due to the tax laws in california. ouch.
LAS VEGAS (AP) ? Raiders owner Mark Davis says he wants to move the team to Las Vegas and is willing to spend a half billion dollars as part of a deal for a new stadium in the city. Davis upped the ante in a bid to move the team to this gambling city, appearing Thursday alongside soccer great David Beckham and billionaire casino owner Sheldon Adelson before a committee studying the idea of a $1.4 billion stadium. He repeated what he said he told Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval a few weeks ago, saying the Raiders want to turn the Silver State into the "silver and black state." Davis noted the Raiders played in Las Vegas in an exhibition against Houston in 1964, and said with help building the stadium it won't be another 50 years before they play here again.
And North Dakota won their championship 3 years in a row before Wentz got there. N.D. was already the best before Wentz got there. Plus the fact that nobody really studied how good the teams were in his division. And Jon Gruden said he didn't think Cal would of won any games without Goff at QB........That is how bad the team Goff was on while Wentz went to a small school that the best in their division 3 years straight before he got there......
