This is when I wish we had an eye for an eye justice system. Anyone that abuses children, should be abused themselves...in this case until he is dead. That may seem morbid to some, but I don't understand clothing, feeding and giving a monster a roof over his/her head for the rest of their life justice. Obviously there are different levels of murder/manslaughter and such, but a 5 year old girl, there is no gray area involved in something like this.

I agree 100%...Though there will never be actual justice for that little girl. When certain lines are crossed, no mercy should be given.

I don't understand the fathers take. He sounds like an idiot too.... If my five year old is terrified of going to her mothers house, there must be a reason for it??? I'm certainly not just ignoring her fear, and dropping her off there anyway....WTH is that?

Honestly he probably had no choice. Even if he lodged a complaint, Child Protective Services is quite possibly the most understaffed and underfunded government agency there is. Their cases are so backed up, there is a good chance the complaint if there was one was pushed down the line or even lost in the shuffle. And with a custody agreement the father could've been brought up on kidnapping charges if he refused to let his daughter see her mother. Then the mother gets sole custody and they're in the same place they are now only the father possibly could've been in prison. Honestly it is impossible to know what steps the father took. Maybe he requested a custody hearing to try and get sole custody and they were waiting on a court date. Maybe that was being delayed because CPS needed to investigate and the case worker had another 40 cases and had not gotten to that one yet. I know in CA CPS workers routinely have a minimum of 30 cases they are responsible for. I'm making the dangerous assumption it is the same other places, some places I know it's even worse.

I realize we aren't getting the whole story, but the father said he was "sorry he didn't listen" to his daughter.....

At bare minimum, I'm having a one on one chat with moms new boyfriend, and letting him know exactly what my concerns are. Complete with a full warning, that if you hurt her in any way, or touch one hair on her head, it'll be the biggest mistake you ever made.....It just doesn't seem like dad did anything at all, other than seal his daughters fate by dropping her off in some hellhole she obviously didn't want to go....

Plus, if you suspect child abuse, I'm pretty sure you have options available that don't involve leaving the child in a dangerous or suspected dangerous surrounding....

You would be surprised. Unless there was evidence, even if the child would say what they were doing its still the word of a 5 year old against theirs. If there were no visible marks on her, the only thing they could do is open a CPS investigation...Again, I admit I am making some assumptions based on limited information, and I hope to god I am never in this situation, but it is quite possible the father did nothing wrong...

They only got 4 years for 140 million. 40 million for the next big QB to sign.

that's 7 yrs down the line. what will his health be then ? seattle isn't taking that chance. think a 4 yr deal vs a 7 yr deal is smart.

Guarantee 5 and get 7 would be a pretty sweet haul at that price. But Wilson knows he can get more later.

Wilson hasn't missed a game yet, and he's been in the playoffs every year except for one.

Peyton Manning threw for 55 TD at age 37.
Tom Brady threw for 33 TDs against just 9 INTs and won a Super Bowl at 37.
Drew Brees completed 471-of-673 for 5208 yards (all leading the NFL) with 37 TDs at age 37.

    37 isn't "ancient" anymore.

talking about the 3 best QBs ever or 3 in the top 5. Wilson is a very solid QB, but he isn't those guys. I hear ya, 37 is not the old man QB of the 70's. just saying he won't be seattle's issue anymore.

Philip Rivers is 37, Ben is turning 37 this year, hell, Carson Palmer averaged 31 TD passes in ages 36-37, and Rich Gannon had his MVP year at age 37.

If Wilson's still productive and winning at age 35, bank on it - Seattle will find a way to keep him.

depends on how the team is then. if they are in contention yes. if they are in the basement - no.
