Wrong. Thats not what the article says, bro. I should have read it earlier to see what you meant by the embolded statement above. This is just a rumor of what goodell said was 'likely'... you made it sound as if it is eminent.

Here's the actual quote from the article...

I believe personally that 12 teams right now is ideal... i like it and thats my opinion. It is not eminently happening as you stated.

ok Will, if you don't believe it will happen that's fine. This isn't the first time this was brought up, so him saying "likely will happen" seems pretty good to me it will happen! If not, why even speak of it? Just squash it now? He didn't and says "likely will happen." So it may not be locked in stone or eminent right this second, but it's coming bro.

He's already been talking 'of' expansion for over 4 years... you are being presumptuous.

I didnt say it wont happen either... thats putting words in my mouth i never said. The fact is you made the statement that "IT WILL HAPPEN"... thats simply not true.

Speaking on 97.5 the Fanatic in Philadelphia, NFL.com?s Lance Zierlein says that the Eagles covet North Dakota State?s Carson Wentz so much that they may even trade up to select him, and a lot of that has to do with their new coach Doug Pederson.

?Make no mistake about it, I still think the Eagles first and foremost are trying to find a way to get Carson Wentz,? Zierlein said. ?I know Doug Pederson loves him. I know that from people behind the scenes, in the know. That?s who he wants and that?s who he likes. It?s just going to be tough.?

The Eagles currently own the eight overall pick, the pick they acquired from the Dolphins in the massive trade that sent Chip Kelly cast-offs Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell to South Beach. The Eagles haven?t selected a QB in the first round of the Draft since they took Donovan McNabb in 1999.

Will - i read this last night on bleacher report. what scares me as an Eagles fan is they have so many other holes to fill that to acquire a top pick will take a lot to do and hurt their chances to fill in key holes with draft picks this year, in 2017 and 2018! Even if Wentz works out, in the long run, will trading 3-5 picks be worth it? you saw what Kelly was willing to trade for #2 last year! A trade like that could ruin the franchise for years to come. That's what I am afraid of!

NYC trial opens for Jets receiver accused of punching woman

NEW YORK (AP) ? A California woman sobbed Tuesday as she told a jury that she still suffers from injuries incurred when she was punched in the face outside a Manhattan nightclub four years ago by NFL wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

Christin Myles said Marshall left her with still unhealed eye injuries, along with neck and back pain that still torment.

Attorney Harvey Steinberg, representing Marshall, a six-time Pro Bowler who now plays for the New York Jets, told jurors in an opening statement that his client never punched Myles. He suggested the Manhattan federal court trial was a money grab.

"I have a feeling if he wasn't a professional athlete we wouldn't be in this courtroom," Steinberg said.

Myles is seeking unspecified damages in the lawsuit she filed after the March 11, 2012, encounter outside Marquee nightclub, where she was celebrating her 24th birthday.

Patriots fans sue NFL over team's 'Deflategate' punishment

BOSTON (AP) ? A group of New England Patriots fans have sued the NFL in an effort to recover the first-round draft pick taken from the team as punishment for the "Deflategate" scandal.

The seven fans include a season ticket holder from Connecticut who said the scandal has left his 7-year-old daughter disillusioned and a Florida man who said the NFL's sanctions have caused him stress and lost sleep.

The complaint filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Boston says the NFL made an "arbitrary and capricious" decision to revoke the pick in this month's draft even though there is no proof the team deliberately deflated footballs in the Jan. 18, 2015, AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts.

The complaint alleges, among other things, common law fraud, negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and racketeering.

The NFL, Commissioner Roger Goodell and team owner Robert Kraft are named as defendants.

The Patriots and league declined to comment Wednesday.

The complaint says the league and Goodell relied on "false premises and biased 'investigations'" in handing down punishment, which also included a $1 million fine and a four-game suspension for quarterback Tom Brady. Brady's suspension remains under appeal.

The suit criticizes Kraft for not fighting the league's punishments harder.

"Defendant Robert Kraft had remedies to attempt to get plaintiffs' draft pick back, but he chose his fellow billionaire owners above the plaintiffs and fellow fans," the suit said.

In other words we would be going the way of that commercial where the father wipes off his kid's trophy and writes champs on it because his team beat everybody else? Hugs are next! :D Every team in the playoffs would be kid's stuff. This is professional sports, not college ( btw, not every team is in the playoffs), not grade school or high school.

There is no QB in this draft worth a high 1st round pick, period. Only desperate teams will try and move up and hope for the best. There is not a sure thing. There is no Luck in this draft, imo.......

  17. Willie Head Coach Manager News & Notes Vikings

A lot of folks may disagree with that. Isnt it possible that 3 QB's go in the 1st round? Someone must think their worth it.

  18. LAOJoe Assistant Coach Manager Patreon Silver Maple Leafs Eagles

4 QBs are easily possible in the 1st round and even the first half of the 1st if SF and LA for example want one with 2 going very early.

Teams that need a QB and have to take a chance, yes......Then who do you take? Some like Wentz better and some like Goff better. And neither is Luck.......If you go high 1st round on any your rolling the dice! Some teams can't afford to to take a chance and let one go by if he turns out half decent. Their fans would be all over them. But if they all all are below average their fans won't say a word!

I agree with Igloo, but when you need a QB, like the majority of NFL teams, those QBs are graded on a curve...sometimes a pretty big curve.

These two top QBs, imho, are not top 10 picks...But, when compared to the whole of the draft, they are..again, imho...ranking in the first round. So if they are ranking as first round picks AND you are QB needy team, those teams will definitely put a premium value on them to get them.

    Nature of the beast.
