If everything there is true, which is taken with a pint of salt, then the Elliott rumours are looking better.
I heard a couple that caught my interest. Even more interesting - the first came from a New Orleans affiliate and the second came from a 49ers employee. The amount of disinformation that flows around this year is awesome but every now and then someone has it dead on the money. One - the Cowboys really like DeForest Buckner (Michael Bennett comparisons thrown out multiple times) and are looking for options to swap with SD if the Browns do not select a quarterback at 2. If they do, the Boys are willing to sit tight and take either Buckner or Ramsey (assuming either Buckner or Ramsey are available). The other - Dallas has already drafted Jalen Ramsey and they are simply waiting to announce it. The common thread? Dallas really likes Jalen Ramsey.
I'm leaning that the Chargers are taking 1 of those 2, Buckner or Ramsey. With Bosa, Tunsil and a QB in the picture in the top 3 it would be tough for Dallas to miss out if they wanted one or the other for sure.
Yep, and Cleveland is the only true wildcard in the picture for Dallas unless Tunsil mysteriously drops or someone trades up into the top 3.
I've heard DeForest Buckner's name mentioned more and more in connection with Dallas. I've also heard that they REALLY like Ramsey. How much is rumor or guesswork or disinformation? Who knows. I probably won't be disappointed with either Buckner, Ramsey or Elliott. Q ~ does anyone see Buckner more as a 3-4 DE type?
You might hurt someone if you throw that pint of salt over your shoulder. Most people only use a pinch, but I guess you wanted to make sure you don't run out.
Depends on who you talk to. Some people point to his height and say that will be an issue with him playing anywhere in the interior of a 4-3. Of course, these might be the same people that point to Rankins height and say the same thing. He's a force up front and I can't see a position on the line that he will fail at. That's the reason the Bennett comparison does make some sense.
In my not very knowledegable opinion, I say yes. When I examined his career, I was very impressed. He is a talent and with brains for the game and his size he could play anywhere on the line in a 3-4 or a base. Just my thoughts tho.
Saying a pint was entirely intentional. You need more than a pinch during draft season. The words are so similar it was clearly a pun.
Panthers sign Steelers CB Brandon Boykin to 1-year deal CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) ? Brandon Boykin is hoping a new start with the Carolina Panthers will bring big rewards. The unrestricted free agent cornerback from the Pittsburgh Steelers signed a one-year contract with the Panthers on Monday after a difficult season in 2015. Financial terms were not available Monday. "When you talk about the defense they have and the opportunity I have to come in play, it was just a no-brainer," Boykin said Monday on a conference call.
This is interesting... AP source: RB Arian Foster to meet Tuesday with Dolphins MIAMI (AP) ? Running backs have proved elusive this offseason for the Miami Dolphins, who are now pursuing free agent Arian Foster. A person familiar with the situation said Foster has agreed to meet Tuesday with the Dolphins, who have had trouble finding a replacement for Lamar Miller. The person confirmed the visit to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Monday because the Dolphins have not commented on the upcoming meeting. Foster is recovering from surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon and has said he plans to play this season. He made the Pro Bowl four times in seven years with the Houston Texans, who released him this month after he missed 12 games last season because of injuries. Miller subsequently signed with the Texans, and the Dolphins need a replacement to complement second-year running back Jay Ajayi. Former NFL rushing champion Chris Johnson visited Miami but decided to stay with Arizona, and after the Dolphins signed C.J. Anderson to an offer sheet, Denver matched. Foster rushed for a franchise-record 6,472 yards with the Texans and added 2,268 yards on receptions.
I like Boykin. Not sure why the Steelers were so quick to let him go, unless his skills went downhill real fast - he was one of the better slot corners when he was with Philly.
Bears agree to 1-year deal with LB Acho LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) ? The Chicago Bears and linebacker Sam Acho have agreed to a one-year contract. Acho had 60 tackles last season ? his first in Chicago ? after spending his first four years with the Arizona Cardinals. He has 172 tackles, 13 sacks and three interceptions in his career.
The Steelers didn't let him go, he was a FA, free to go anywhere he could get a contract. They actually would have welcomed him back, but he wanted a guarantee that he would get more playing time.
I know he wasn't cut - but the Steelers let him go by not ever attempting to re-sign him. So why wouldn't you give him more playing time?
Maybe its just a matter of Boykin being surrounded by exceptional talent. In his 4 years in the NFL he has played in all 64 games, but only started 7. Seems to indicate to me he was just a victim of circumstances by being in the midst of talent... hence the lesser starts.
In Philly he was solely a slot corner, so he wouldn't necessarily be a "starter." His last year in Philly the starters were Cary Williams and Bradley Fletcher, both of whom stink - no "exceptional talent" there. Last year in Pittsburgh it was Antwon Blake and William Gay - neither of whom can be called "exceptional talent."
Bengals to sign veteran linebacker Karlos Dansby Karlos Dansby is more than a linebacker. He's a seer. Released by the Browns earlier this month, the 34-year-old veteran told Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot: "I'm sure the Bengals are licking their chops right now." He wasn't wrong. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Cincinnati will sign Dansby on Tuesday after the former Cardinals and Dolphins standout visited the team last week. Dansby has always been a playmaker -- he logged a pair of pick sixes last season for the third time in his career -- but he showed his age against the run. Despite plenty of time in the 3-4 defense, Dansby will find work in Cincy's 4-3 scheme. While Rey Maualuga and Vincent Rey are under contract at middle linebacker, Dansby is an upgrade over A.J. Hawk for a defense that also must account for Vontaze Burfict's three-game suspension. (NFL.com)
Boykin keeps declaring he wants to play outside but both teams he has been on felt he wasn't good outside, but is good in the slot. I don't really see how someone can cover good in the slot but suck outside? But he must suck outside because he couldn't move Blake out of the starting spot. Maybe he can't cover good WRs?
