How crazy this all was, the Jags' season / descent. Separated from a Super Bowl by five points, to a losing season and tons of roster drama / potential turnover. Surely this couldn't have all been fixed by addressing the QB situation, but surely it would've helped. The stubbornness of Jags management hasn't helped them much - although I haven't followed them closely enough this season to know all the nuances of the drama. Seems like Fournette would be welcome on plenty of teams around the league...
I don’t agree with how the players reacted on that Jaguars team but it’s obvious that team management lost that roster in a big way. Tom Coughlin had a really nice run with the Giants but he’s a dinosaur now and out of touch with that team in a big way.
Jacksonville looked to have turned thing around but if you're in the NFL and you stop trying to improve your franchise in all aspects the only other direction is regression. Last year's roster should never be as good as this year's roster and that includes the coaching staff, training staff, scouting department, cheerleaders, parking lot attendants and any other Tom, Dick or Mary that is cashing a check with that organizations logo on it.
Falcons fire all three coordinators... Falcons head coach Dan Quinn isn’t losing his job on Black Monday, but his top assistants are. All three of the Falcons’ top assistants — offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian, defensive coordinator Marquand Manuel and special teams coach Keith Armstrong — are on the way out, according to multiple reports. Quinn is expected to take over defensive coordinator duties himself and hire a new offensive and special teams coordinator It was an extremely disappointing season in Atlanta, where the Falcons thought Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and Co. would make them Super Bowl contenders in a year when the Super Bowl is being played in their home stadium. Instead, they finished 7-9. (PFT)

None of this is to imply that I don’t believe in Wentz. In fact, when he’s healthy and not getting hammered behind a leaky offensive line, Wentz is capable of the MVP-level play he displayed in the 2017 season. He’s still firmly entrenched as the center of the roster for the next decade, having just turned 26 on Sunday and flashing some brilliance in 11 starts this season. This quote from the linked article has crossed my mind more than once. Isn't that the same "leaky offensive line" that Foles played behind? At some point in time the cost to draft Wentz could be over shadowed by his availability. He has now missed time in two consecutive seasons and Foles (with the exact same supporting cast) has propelled the Eagles to heights they never imagined. If I had to pick only one to keep, I might lean towards Foles.
and my point the other day went unanswered. wentz is under his rookie deal. he will want $28-30 mil per in 2 yrs.if he gets hurt again, and if the injury is severe, will they pay him ? huge if! if Foles can win a game or two this playoff, then what? they gotta get rid of his salary for cap reasons. i don't think it will be an easy decision.
Mike Mayock new Raiders GM!! I can’t remember ever being this impressed and disappointed simultaneously before. Great hire by the Raiders. Will Mayock feel he has enough say with Gruden having the final call? Time will tell. I’m making the Raiders my de-facto #2 team until further notice, lol
Antonio Brown missed game for disciplinary reasons, not injury... Steelers receiver Antonio Brown was inactive Sunday, but it had nothing to do with a knee injury. According to Gerry Dulac and Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Pro Bowler’s absence came in the wake of a heated dispute with a teammate that led to him missing practice last week. Per the newspaper, Brown and a teammate got into it during Wednesday’s walk-through, and the receiver threw a football in anger at an unnamed player. Brown missed practice the rest of the week, which was his decision and not the team’s. Brown attended the game, expecting to play, but left at halftime. Brown played in Week 16 against the Saints despite missing a mandatory morning meeting the week of that game. One player told the Post-Gazette the situation was “embarrassing” and “the worst I’ve seen” with the way it was handled. Brown missed practice Wednesday with what the Steelers called a coach’s decision. The team added a knee injury when Brown didn’t practice Thursday, and coach Mike Tomlin told reporters Friday that the wideout was undergoing tests on his knee. Brown made 104 catches for 1,297 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, but Steelers players voted JuJu Smith-Schuster team MVP last week. (PFT)
