Just some Maybes Justin Watt last season? Barry Sanders (how many guys would make the highlight real for a 1 yard gain or sometimes a 2 yard loss)? Early Michael Vick? Rookie Seasons for Randy Moss and Fred Taylor?
All great players. I remember watching Barry and him having some games that were simply forgettable. Not because of anything he did in particular but that Detroit offense had some very, very bad days on occasion. As for potential to make you jump up and down on any given play, Barry might have been and might still be the all-time greatest. There were some Sundays with Vick where he was special for sure. But even early Vick had days where people walked away from the stadium thinking he would never make it in the league. Randy could flat out burn and had the occasional highlight reel grab but I don't remember him being an every week head scratcher. With OBJ he seems to have at least one grab or more every week that makes him look like he is the absolute future of what that position should be.
Walter Payton was another that gave a lot of 'wows', maybe not every week, but darn near close. Barry had the razzle dazzle tho.
I know this will get some chuckles and laughs, but Randall Cunningham in 1990-1992. He could throw on a rope 70 yrds or run around, avoid sacks and beat you with his legs. Not every game, but man he made things exciting at QB. And he had a 90 yrd punt too! ;o) Overall Barry Sanders was a highlight reel every game. He was the best.
That's another solid candidate Cat. If you grew up in that era of football Randall Cunningham was outstanding for incredible plays.
During his Career Barry probably helped more people loose weight than Richard Simmons. Every time he touched the ball you scooted to the edge of your seat going here we go. Then you would scoot back once the play was over only to be right back on the edge again. Crazy thing with Beckham some of his catches are not even making espn anymore because he is starting to make some of them look routine. If they were caught by any other WR they would be a top 3 play of the day, but with Odell you almost yawn and go oh he did it again. Dion Sanders though I hate to list him Then Some for Kick/Punt Returns only Devin Hester Dante Hall
Ok Jeanquev, I'm sold, later today I'm going to start a thread for us to nominate the highlight reels and maybe get some voting going on. Might need to break it down into categories or eras.
I'll be shocked if the Giants beat the Panthers this week because all they have is Eli to Beckham, let alone the Vikings a week later.......The Giants have a tough 2 games coming up. I highly doubt they are in the playoffs......Of course nobody ever believed they would send a man to the moon either......or did they? Edit: Beckham also makes Eli's stats look better than a normal receiver would....
It would have been funny if that was the exact moment the other foot touched inbounds and they ruled the play to stand as called (incomplete) because of his shoelaces.
8-5 vs 4-9 SATURDAY, DEC 19TH 8:25 PM ET AT&T STADIUM I think this will be more fun than the Rams, Buc's game. Well hell, it better be...
I agree. Watching any political debate is complete waste of time, whether its the Democrats or the Republicans... or whatever party affiliation. The amusing thing is this, with the GOP, its like going to the circus. Ultimately, it's useless, all fluff and lies (like any other debate), but there's Trump (clown 1), Carson (clown 2), Rubio (3rd fiddle), etc... Its fun to watch the "serious" ones trying to climb over the two top clowns. Oh yeah, and then there's the female candidate trying to be serious, wanting to be taken seriously, all the while being completely disrespected... by everyone, even the clowns.
