Los Angeles Rams sign CB Coty Sensabaugh to 3-year deal LOS ANGELES (AP) ? Cornerback Coty Sensabaugh has agreed to a three-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams. The club confirmed the deal Tuesday. Sensabaugh started 27 games during his first four NFL seasons with the Tennessee Titans, who drafted him in the fourth round in 2012. The Clemson product started 15 games last year, making two interceptions. Sensabaugh worked with Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams in 2013 when Williams was a Titans assistant. The Rams need another starting cornerback alongside Trumaine Johnson to replace Janoris Jenkins, who agreed to a lavish free-agent deal with the New York Giants. Sensabaugh will compete for the job with E.J. Gaines in training camp. Los Angeles also re-signed defensive end Eugene Sims and tight end Cory Harkey.
Browns sign LB Demario Davis formerly of the NY Jets This is a "fill the roster" move. He immediately moves into a starting position, but is a liability on passing downs...Should help improve the run defense though. So I like the move.
Expect Karlos Dansby to be released by the Browns. His cap savings will almost pay for Davis this year.
Jets sign defensive linemen Jenkins, McLendon NEW YORK (AP) ? The New York Jets refilled their defensive line after losing "Snacks." Free-agent defensive lineman Jarvis Jenkins and nose tackle Steve McLendon signed deals Wednesday, helping the Jets offset the departure of nose tackle Damon Harrison, who signed with the Giants last week. Jenkins' contract is for two years and $7 million, with $3 million guaranteed, according to a person with direct knowledge of the deal. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the Jets had not announced the signing. McLendon signed a three-year, $12 million deal, according to agent Richard Kopelman. Jenkins, 27, had four sacks for Chicago last year after spending his first three NFL seasons with Washington. He was a second-round pick by the Redskins out of Clemson in 2011. Jenkins missed his rookie season after tearing a knee ligament in the preseason, but played in every game the next year. He was suspended the first four games of the 2013 season for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing substances. Jenkins signed a one-year deal with Chicago last offseason, registering a single-season career high in sacks. Jenkins will help provide depth behind Muhammad Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson and Leonard Williams. McLendon, 30, was signed by Pittsburgh as an undrafted free agent out of Troy in 2009, and has five career sacks. He is a run-stuffing presence up front who is the likely candidate to replace Harrison as the Jets' starting nose tackle. McLendon was a backup for much of his first few seasons with the Steelers before he took over as a starter for five-time Pro Bowler Casey Hampton before the 2013 season. He has started 30 games over the past three years.
Here's the next one . . . If the Browns sign a FA wide receiver, Dwayne Bowe (and perhaps Brian Hartline) can pack their bags.
Titans agree to 1-year contract with linebacker Sean Spence NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) ? The Tennessee Titans have agreed to a one-year contract with linebacker Sean Spence. The Titans announced Wednesday that they had agreed to terms with Spence, who played 31 games and made 13 starts with the Pittsburgh Steelers over the last two seasons. Spence, who is 5-foot-11 and 231 pounds, had 34 tackles and one sack while appearing in 15 games last season. The Steelers gave Spence the 2014 Ed Block Courage Award after he overcame a knee injury that had caused him to miss two seasons. He injured the knee in the final preseason game of his rookie year. Spence was selected by the Steelers in the third round of the 2012 draft after he made 318 tackles as a four-year starter at Miami.
Eagles sign receiver Chris Givens to 1-year deal PHILADELPHIA (AP) ? Wide receiver Chris Givens has signed a one-year contract with the Eagles. Givens reunites with quarterback Sam Bradford after playing three-plus seasons in St. Louis and part of last season in Baltimore. The 26-year-old Givens was a fourth-round pick in 2012. He had 20 catches for 353 yards and one touchdown last year for the Rams and Ravens. Givens had his best season as a rookie playing with Bradford on the Rams. He caught 42 passes for 698 yards and three TDs that season. Givens gives the Eagles more depth at a position where they lack a standout receiver.
