Funny thing Axe is that it's the same here in Green Bay. The Pack has owned the Bears and has had much more success in recent years but every time they play it's nothing but Bears talk. There's even a song called "The Bears still suck!" that floods the radio waves for a week in advance.

They're crazy here too I guess.

In the Super Bowl era. The Steelers are easily the best team in the SB era. Most regular season wins , most SB victories, most playoff victories and most postseason games played. No wonder our opponents hate us so much.

no you're a bunch of bandwagon fans who cheered for a perennial winner instead of your home town losing team. you're not crazy axe. you're a bunch of sellouts. it's so easy cheering for the winner. it's hard sticking by your losing team year after year. the philly teams have a ton of losing. hundreds of thousand of residents and fans stick by them. you didn't.

ask lyman or irishdawg how he feels about the steelers or gideon or jean about they feel about the browns. i bet they have a different take on the rivalry in name only bit.

I hate the Steelers almost as much as I hate that team up north... That said, anyone under the age of 30 rooting for the Steelers probably doesn't have that same hatred for the Browns. They don't remember the 80's, so they don't remember the Browns being good. These last two decades have taken quite a bit away from what this proud franchise once was... The "younger fans" don't even believe us that we were once fierce rivals.

That said, I would be willing to bet the older Steelers fans still hate the Browns, even if they aren't scared of us on Sunday.

Though true Browns fans are so fierce that their offspring can't help but follow. All of my kids always say the same thing when we go to Michigan (yes, the whole state) and Pittsburgh (where some of my best friends from college live and we frequent), "we must be getting close, I can smell the garbage". My 16 year old daughter gags every time she sees yellow, with either blue or black next to it.

The thing is, I was brought up to root for your own... In my house, we were Cleveland fans..ALL sports teams...and we were Ohio State fans. I am a die hard tOSU fan, even though I love my Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football. My dad allows me that one guilty pleasure, because he knows how loyal I am to the Scarlett and Gray, in every sport.

I have been married twice, both marriages we have discussed a possibility of moving if a career opportunity arose... Both marriages I have had career opportunities present themselves out of state and after living in Indiana for 2 years, I cannot bring myself to move away because of the lack of coverage of Ohio sports. I can't do it...

My love for the Browns runs deep, but I am an extremely loyal person. Once my kids became school age, I moved back to my hometown, because I was a Redmen and they were going to be Redmen(Lady Red)... That's just who I am...

Yes, because at 6 years old I knew what a "bandwagon" was. Get over yourself, already.

So, Gid - per Catfish I need to ask this question:

Are the Browns your biggest home game of the year?

  9. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

Now to be fair, 18 out of the last 20 or so Browns @ Steelers games, the Steelers were going head to head with the Ravens/Bengals for the Division title, the Browns were an after thought... BUT, if/when the Browns get their shit together (hopefully Baker Mayfield makes that happen), that will be a MUCH bigger game than either of those other two (or any other team for that matter). Bank on it. That's because the two fanbases are fierce.

I'll let Gid answer for himself, but I think he will agree.

I don't disagree with that assessment.

Obviously the Ravens are our biggest rivalry right now. The Browns were our biggest rivalry until they moved to Baltimore. If the Browns could put up a respectable team , which I believe them and the Ravens are in the process of swapping positions, they will be our biggest rivalry. The Browns and oilers were our biggest rivals until the move. Of course the oilers became the Titans. Our rivalrys have really been changed by unforeseen circumstances. The move, realignment.

Kevin Byard fined $10,026 for celebration on Cowboys star...

Titans safety Kevin Byard‘s choice of celebration for an interception in Dallas on Monday night was not applauded by the Cowboys or his head coach.

Byard intercepted a Dak Prescott pass in the end zone and then danced on the Cowboys star logo at midfield until Cowboys defensive back Byron Jones pushed him off. Vrabel said he would have preferred to see Byard find another way to enjoy himself and the league office added its displeasure to the list as well.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Byard has been fined $10,026 as a result of “stomping” on the star. NFL rules on taunting forbid “acts or words that may engender ill will between teams,” although Byard was not penalized during the game.

Byard said he and Vrabel spoke about the matter and all is good between them as the Titans move toward Sunday’s game against the Patriots. (NBC's PFT)

They should fine them when they stomp on the terrible towels. Never mind, the curse will take care of them.

But the star, wtf? You should be allowed to burn it after a TD. Bring lighter fluid and matches and burn the star down.

The curse associated with stomping on the star is you have to play for the Cowboys later in your career. See T O

Dez Bryant suffers torn Achilles tendon in practice...

Recently signed New Orleans Saints wide receiver Dez Bryant suffered a torn Achilles tendon in practice Friday, sources told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. An MRI scan confirmed the initial diagnosis that was made after practice, a source told Rapoport.

Bryant suffered the injury while running a routine route in practice, sources told NFL Network's Jane Slater. He signed a one-year deal with the Saints on Wednesday and practiced with the team for the first time Thursday. (NFL.com)
